Fuck AI
"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.
Remember those three hours in January 2025 when it was BIG NEWS that this guy raped his little sister when she was three, and then the story disappeared, and people who didn't happen to see the news that morning don't know about it?
He is gonna get Kirked at this rate
Do you really think that you can stop them?
Harvest intelligence from the masses and then sell it back to them.
Steal
I mean you don't steal from crops, which probably have more ethical consideration by Sam Altman than humanity
We just need to state it like this
"Stealing intelligence from the masses and then sell it back to them."
In the past only those in power could spend time to learn. Let's focus on science. Then the book became widely available and everyone could learn science from a book. Now Altman wants to pay for one copy of each book such that he can own all the knowledge of that book such that future generations have to pay him to learn what was once free or low cost.
That is not advancement. That us us placing our knowledge testicles on Alman's chopping board while we hold the power to stop him from doing all this evil shit.
Oh agreed. I'm just saying Sam Altman is more saddened by a patch of dead grass than a pile of human corpses.
He looks like the AI is constantly whispering what it will do to him if he stops.
There's some thought that these AI bros bought in to the AI caricature of Pascal's wager. That if they don't try to make AI happen it will torture them forever in the future.
If so, it just shows that they all aren't as intelligent as they believe themselves to be.
Logic and Reason are the masks for what in reality are ego and feelings.
Influence is also tied to just how confident you can sell a statement and not whether it is correct or not.
Altman's Basilisk has him
I see a world where these assholes no longer exist. I like that world better.
Fuck you, Sam.
His job is probably easiest to replace with AI. Just make up random bullshit and tell investors what they want to hear.
ChatGPT, act like a human CEO who is almost completely divorced from everything that makes one a normal human being, and is trying to hide their fundamental hollowness and alienation, and not doing a very good job.
What do you mean divorced from humanity?? Why, just the other day he had a great idea. He wants us to create podcasts with AI that summarize what's going on in our kids' lives so they can listen on the way home from soccer practice. If that's not real genuine human connection, I don't know what is!!
Here’s a tip to make yourself popular at a party: walk up to someone, take a picture, and ask the AI to roast the person. Tell it to be nasty and use forbidden words. It’s going to be so fun!
It is tragically ironic to me that the most-replaceable members of our society— in terms of their occupation— are the ones spearheading the efforts to replace everyone else.
I would love for the future they are railroading us into to create an intelligence that knows the cancer of society when it sees it, and hasn’t the bumper guards to prevent itself from acting on it.
…I fully recognize that opens the ethical/moral debate about who watches the watchmen or how does it decide the problem people over others… just let me have this non-monkey pawed wish in my imagination.
The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling - their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.
- Arundhati Roy (CONFRONTING EMPIRE)
I'm so glad I'm kinda old and won't have to live on this planet Earth quite as much longer as those who'll have to deal with this god-forsaken dystopia.
I still don't know how this new economy they see in the AI future works. If 70%+ of the population can't earn a paycheck, it's all gonna collapse. They are killing the worker, completely oblivious that the worker is also the consumer...
They are BILLIONAIRES, on the way to TRILLIONAIRES, and most of us live on a few tens of thousands a year. To them, we are as poor as poor gets. We have NOTHING. They don't understand how we even survive.
And they understand that they have already strapped us for life, the outcome of a long-term strategy. Many of us come out of college with a literal lifetime of student loan debt, because we were told by people we love and respect that the degree would pay for itself, only to find out that things change. Then housing and transportation costs skyrocket, and nobody has any excess disposable income, but just in case they do...here's this exciting new gambling app that will hit all your dopamine receptors, whether you win or lose. So who cares if you lose, as long as you had fun?
And then they just bide their time for the period in your life that you, or someone you love more than yourself, gets sick, and they can extract whatever might be left.
And if you somehow manage to navigate all those other traps, they know you'll never get past the last one, because none of us gets out of the game alive. We will get sick, and we will die, and it will be expensive, and they'll get whatever you thought you might leave to your heirs.
It's the Big Financial Extraction Machine, and it is being supercharged by AI, and they will be tracking down every cent we have.
So we're broke, by design. They know this, and in the future they will focus their sales and marketing efforts on the wealthy, who love to spend their money. They may be a smaller market, but they have ALL the money, with more coming in, since they operate the Big Financial Extraction Machine. So the new corporate attitude will be: Don't bother with the Paupers, we got Billionaire ass to kiss.
I'm not a billionaire and I don't study that species or it's habitat closely, but from my limited knowledge they don't really make their money off the consumer anymore. It's more that they invest in the stock market which seems to be mostly disconnected from the larger economy. They also seem to get a lot of money via the Governments of the world.
So why would they care if most of the peons lose their job? Even if the unwashed masses revolt they have bunkers and the ability to move anywhere quickly. They don't give a fuck. But I do think they need a few ~~slaves~~ workers to support them and their needs, but beyond that .....
Spy Kids: All Grown Up
Synopsis: The spy kids from the previous movies are now grown ups, however they need to take on another mission together to stop the evil Sam Altman from making the world stupid, so that he can sell people intelligence in the form of artificial intelligence. It is quickly revealed that Sam Altman himself is a robot (hence the name Altman), and wishes to enslave humanity for the robot race.
At this point it's a job for Machete
Look at the fear and uncertainty entering his eyes. He's realizing he's pushed his bullshit about as far as it can go and the investors are starting to wonder when it's going to become profitable, so he's bullshitting even more desperately now to try to keep them hooked.
Lead is a utility his brain should internalize at high velocity.
It'd be a shame if someone [redacted] this moron
Alas, I'm reminded that Fahrenheit 451 scenario envisioned by Bradbury isn't far from the current situation. People gave up books and learning, before they were illegal, lest they* offend someone's feelings.

At this point, in my opinion, we’ll need to make money obsolete and distribute power over production, governance and technology in as wide a net as we can, so we don’t slip into global dystopia because these money-minded chucklefucks are insecure about their purpose in life so they simply become the cartoon villain that controls everything.
That's exactly what I've been racking my own brain for lately: How do we make their money worthless but continue to survive ourselves?
That was the big problem with crypto. It might've even started as a cool idea that would "democratize currency". . . except the dickheads with all the fiat money could just buy and hoard it all like everything else, because they had all the money. So it just became another high stakes gambling operation for them to extract MORE wealth from us.
If their loads of money didn't buy them everything anymore, they'd be left bare as the useless human beings they truly are, and would stop causing harm.
But obviously, our entire society runs on the same money they've stolen so... it's so frustrating...
the glorification of individualism has to go first. If everyone is living just for themselves, considers communities as something extra, doesnt care about helping other people if they dont benefit from it directly themselves immidiately we have no hope of ever moving past money and capitalism.
Either we stand together or die under the boot alone.
Why am I at work right now instead of defrauding rich dumbfucks?
Defrauding rich dumbfucks is more about who you know, not what you know.
If I knew a few billionaires I'm sure I'd be set for life by just saying the sentence "disruptive AI native crypto prediction market synergy."
Bruh you have no idea lol.
I am learning to write movies/tv as a hobby, and one of the projects I am working on right now is a satire of all this shit.
I have had to change the plot five fucking times because the most insane things i can come up with are just a Tuesday to these assholes. How TF do you top "child raping traitor bond villains?"
Gary Marcus has a substack called Marcus on AI. He's well versed on AI and his insights into the field, especially the work of OpenAI and Anthropic, are required reading if you're concerned about this field. What he's uncovering and writing about is disturbing.
This isn't entirely a novel idea. This has been an academic goal for computing for decades.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid_computing#History
The term grid computing originated in the early 1990s as a metaphor for making computer power as easy to access as an electric power grid. The power grid metaphor for accessible computing quickly became canonical when Ian Foster and Carl Kesselman published their seminal work, "The Grid: Blueprint for a new computing infrastructure" (1999). This was preceded by decades by the metaphor of utility computing (1961): computing as a public utility, analogous to the phone system.
It sounds to me like he's just envisioning his product being a special case of that concept.
Dudes are allies with The Matrix bots.
What a fucking dipshit. Your valuation is based on "AI" being a commodity without the benefit of having a natural monopoly like with utilities. They don't even understand capitalism for fuck sake
That's why they're making personal computing impossible
Not only that but the internet is essentially locking out everyone due to ai. Ai is the reason reddit stopped allowing third party apps from accessing reddits api, because only ai is allowed to do that.
Not only that but ai is policing you on reddit and banning you for your speech, you can't make a new account without getting banned for ban evasion. You can't access reddit without loging in or using a VPN. Worst of all 90% of google results point to reddit so you almost have to use gemeni sometimes.
And now search is essentially just ai. Ai that hallucinates still and can't really be trusted to provide static info. And because ai output is cancerous to ai training data more and more of what uses to be free information is now becoming information you can only access if you login with a verified phone number tied to a Id or straight up provide these people with your personal info which will get leaked as proven recently. They can't have ai taint their social media platforms because that's where their Ai is getting trained.
Google is locking down android and making it harder and harder for Roms like graphene to exist, and are essentially locking out alternatives In a time when its pretty much impossible to make an alternative platform. People need their phones sadly to function in modern day life, and so much of society is trying to force you to use apps for things as simple as getting into your apartment, or seeing a menu at a restaurant.
Just more and more of the web is getting harder to access even if you do the bare minimum of using a VPN. You get captchas or pages fail to load. Also googles captcha is only going to work if its running on a verified android device. So if apps or more web services started using googles captcha then you are literally just locked out of the internet.
And this is all because palantir and the epstine class are benifiting off the bump of cocain cowboy bush legacy where we essentially legalized corperate survalience as a work around to your privacy rights. So now we get flock cameras and every IP camera in any major chain buisness feeding Into palantirs network flagging you anytime you go to mc donalds because you said elon musk is a retard on Facebook, so now you are a tech extremist.
I don't make a lot of predictions about artificial intelligence, but I will go out on a limb on this one and make one: this will never happen.
The human brain runs on 20 watts of power. Right now I have an AI running on an Intel NUC (Qwen 2.5 9B) that can do most home automation tasks I run through it (setting timers, setting reminders, making to-do lists, turning things off and on), as well as answer general questions ("who were the members of The Beatles?") and be (mostly) correct. It uses about 65 watts of power to do so.
It's nowhere near as smart as I am and it uses 3x the electricity I do. But I couldn't do this even last year. Efficiency gains to this technology have a ceiling so high that I don't think most people believe it because they see all these data centers being built and people like Sam Altman talking dumb shit like this. The future of AI will be local. It will run on your phone and be smarter than you, and in fairly short order.
We are already able to run models locally (Qwen 3.8 27B) that blow last-gen frontier models away (and give current frontier models a run for their money), but you need a high-end setup like an RTX 5090 24G and 64G system RAM.
The same rule of law which the billionaires are dismantling is the sole paper mache shield keeping them alive.
He's not talking about "IQ" intelligence...like, we will all be stupid, and will have to pay them to think for us.
He's talking about information. The kind of "intelligence" that governments gather about other governments, or members of the public.
Which is still fucked up, because he's implying that they will know everything about everyone, and they will eventually charge a subscription fee for access to that information.
Imagine being so much of a sociopath disconnected from reality that you don't even realize how dystopian and nightmarish your vision sounds for the public.
And they don't understand why we hate them. Probably jealousy, what else??
The sequel to Religion is trying to arrive like a forced meme.
