This is all just cowardly. We both know that if you said a racist thing online without disagreeing with it, you'd clearly just be spreading a toxic idea. There's zero difference here. Bye.

You brought bad faith arguments and didn't take any care to point out that they are flawed, so, even if you strongly disagree with them and did not mean to promote them in any way, you indeed did promote them by repeating them and offering no criticism of them whatsoever.

Your language actually implied that it's a legitimate claim to say "schools are pushing kids to be trans" which is beyond bullshit. I know someone who teaches in a very blue area and all they're asked to do is call kids by the name they ask, and suggest talking with a counselor for kids seemed troubled. And even within that framework there are conservative teachers who are mad about those requests and don't honor them. So yeah, it's harmful for you to pretend things are happening which are not happening, particularly because thousands of liars are driving young people to suicide by parroting the same lie you did.

And without enough info to point to a specific intersection.

What trauma caused her to be a bigot? Never heard that before now

By your thinking, the letter A on a transparent background is a "meme"

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago

Yes, mags are stupid. But not necessarily because they are unintelligent, but because they fundamentally do not understand what being trans is

It's not that they don't understand, it's that they refuse to try to understand. "I might be wrong" is not something they're capable of thinking. Because they adopted the idea that all their views are moral and any other view is evil and immoral. It all falls apart with the tiniest bit of scrutiny, so they make sure to not ever question any of their bullshit.

They're a fucking coward. And they're wrong. That's why they deleted all their windows-simping comments here.

  1. fuck them. I don't need to force myself to feel empathy for people mad about a fake excuse that probably has no connection to reality at all but has every connection to bigotry.
  2. nope, no one in schools is pushing kids to be trans and you're a disgusting person for spreading that lie. Support is not "pushing".

Your attempt to put a coat of logic onto bigotry is disgusting and makes you worse than a conservative who admits to being racist. Because at least with them you know what you're getting, they're not trying to trick anyone with false motives.

I read your comments below where you claim everyone on Lemmy is a mindless drone parroting leftist ideas but you. Maybe what that feeling actually is is a sign that you're out of your element. Reddit.com/r/conservative seems more your speed. That's where the admitted Nazis, the supposedly moderate conservatives, and other bigots hang out. They'd welcome your anti-trans intentional lies with open arms.

Dressing up your anti-intellectual hogwash in excuses

Personally I find the fact that people trust unreliable software to be annoying and a huge societal problem.

The one that uses the latin alphabet. You know, the only one that exists.

For me it was just inexperience. Missed a domestic flight by 2 minutes and an international one because I thought an hour early should be enough but the Rome airport sucks and it was not. Now I usually get there way too early. But having anxiety didn't stop me from making somewhat the same mistake twice!

Interview with formerly decorated lawyer under Trump's first term who is now sounding the alarm about lawlessness at the DOJ at direction of Emil Bove.

Former Justice Department lawyer Erez Reuveni speaks out about the disregard of due process and for the rule of law that he says he witnessed in his final weeks at the Department of Justice.

This feels somewhat significant. Not the first one to serve and later come out against the Trump administration, but every day things seem to escalate further toward absolute authoritarianism and thus it is scarier than ever for whistleblowers to go public.

Thanks @9limmer@lemmy.zip for bringing this to my attention in a comment elsewhere in this community.

May not be in the exact spirit of the community, but I thought it was funny how the sign was broken.

Nothing scary about this at all.

Update: apparently already backtracked: https://abcnews.go.com/US/trump-preparing-executive-order-telling-education-secretary-dissolve/story?id=119499614

This might be the normal Trump tactic of floating horrible ideas, so don't be surprised if it comes back later.

I know that karma is a contentious issue on Lemmy, but I like having the feature where it is displayed on user profiles. For trolls especially, it helps to know if they should be ignored or not, like if they have -3000 karma for example. I have always noticed karma appearing in boost when viewing a user's profile, but today after logging out and back in, I noticed I no longer have that feature. Karma is no longer shown on profiles for me.

It doesn't seem like anyone else is having the issue and the recent changelog entries don't mention it. Did I inadvertently change a setting and now I just can't find that setting to change it back?
