Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

How dare you work with writers and creatives and put this in a listing? Corporate bs, get lost.

Fun fact: I do contract work for several tech companies and the one that pushes for ai use the least is an ai company.

AI in writing fields is just going to be a given from now on

You won't believe this one hack for creating massive amounts of click bait wit a single click

Ugh I feel ya. Been applying for new Programming jobs and they all ask for some kind of interest in AI. I've just accepted that it's something I'm gonna be lying about from now on. Got an interview on monday where the game plan is to insist that I can't go in depth about my AI experience because I found a crazy new way to make it much more accurate and predictable (it's called programming by hand)

At this point I just hope it's buzzwords in the job listing rather than a must for the job. I still have a 12 weeks notice period, so can afford to be picky at the moment. If time runs out, I'll just have to accept it. Besides, I can still opt to just don't use it once I land a job. Who says I am obliged to do it?

Make sure to have strong writing skills, and then never use them because we want you to use an LLM for that.

and "leverage" them, whatever you mean by that

If a job requires the us of AI, it’s best to put it in the job description. It’ll save both job hunters AND hiring managers some time.
