Who's taking odds on brain worms? Whale head parasites??

Curious to see how this plays out since there is no such epidemic.
I've no doubt he'll find a way to blame vaccines, flouride, whatever environmental substance... 🙄 🙄
Kennedy Turns to a Discredited Vaccine Skeptic for Autism Study
David Geier has been hired as a senior data analyst at H.H.S. According to several people, he will examine any potential links between vaccines and autism that were debunked long ago.
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/health/rfk-jr-autism-vaccines.html
Fucking hell, Mark Geier's son? The brain worms did a number on RFK, that's pure idiocy.
There is a drastic increase in autism cases, the cause is "increased testing for autism".
Just like when Covid was hitting, and HitlerPig was getting hysterical about testing, because testing was increasing the numbers. Its hard to imagine someone being so ignorant.
So their solution will be to prohibit any discussion or even the use of any terms about autism, and to ban autism testing. In a year or two, the statistics will show a decrease in new cases, and they will claim they cured it.
This comment is to remind everyone that Trump sent a man to prison in El Salvador for having an autism awareness tattoo
Well he does have a tattoo in honor of the actual cause of the autism epidemic /s
But no seriously its horrifying and if you arent pissed that's a problem
Mr. Kennedy shot back at Mr. Cassidy, citing a study from an ecosystem of vaccine critics that he said proved a connection between vaccines and autism.
This sentence says it all. Even if the study said the opposite, it still wouldn't "prove" anything. That's not how science works.
Yup, the verdict was in before the study started.
I think you misunderstood my comment. Science doesn't "prove" things, math does. In science you acquire evidence that either supports a hypothesis or doesn't.
Technically, science can "disprove" things, but never "prove".
Yes this is a pedantic difference, but it's very important when literally discussing the interpretation of a scientific study.
So what I was saying is that even if the study RFK cited was supportive of vaccines not causing autism, it would still be wrong to say that it "proves" that.
Wtf are you on? If there is no correlation between vaccines and autism at a statically significant level then that means there is no association between vaccines and autism. These studies have already been done. Go fuck yourself with prove and disprove you pedantic wanker.
If there is no correlation between vaccines and autism at a statically significant level then that means there is no association between vaccines and autism.
I never disagreed with that or stated the opposite. I know vaccines do not cause autism, and I've had to scientifically explain that fact to many people in my personal life.
But I think your reading comprehension needs serious improvement. You clearly do not understand how the scientific method works.
Science does not prove things. This is a fundamental aspect of how science is done.
-
You come up with a hypothesis.
-
Design an experiment to test that
-
Based on the results:
-
Good prediction: the hypothesis got something right
-
Bad prediction: the hypothesis is wrong, go back to the drawing board
-
You can disprove a hypothesis with an experiment/study, but you cannot do the opposite. The best you can do is validate that the hypothesis got something right. From there you need to refine the theory to make more and more accurate predictions until something breaks. That's literally how science works.
Go fuck yourself with prove and disprove you pedantic wanker.
Go read a Science Basics for Dummies book and then come talk to me, otherwise stay in your lane.
Far-right people really don't understand what peer review is..
Even if he has to make it up.
He's already said he thinks pesticides and vaccines cause autism and transgenders.
And then denied publicly saying that during his appointment interviews
He didn't "deny publicly," he committed perjury, and should be in prison.
There's no useful purpose reporting these delusional proclamations. Boosting the narratives of power-addled nazis is detrimental to society.
It is a useful reminder that people with autism are in danger with this regime in power. And anyone who needs vaccinations (everyone).
The "problem" conservatives are looking for is just wider awareness of the diagnosis' existence.
Innumerable people just dropped dead because of diabetes and cancer before we knew about diabetes and cancer, and more still until testing became accessible to most.
Conservative's solution to anything though is "lalala not listening so shut up!" just like Reagan with aids or conservatives calling Covid Masks tyranny.
Kennedy has long promoted a debunked link between vaccines and autism despite scientific evidence to the contrary.
"We're going to look at vaccines," Kennedy later told Fox News.
Fixed. He’ll just blame it on vaccines.
Exactly. He needs until September to forge the evidence.
We WILL find the cause of this imaginary problem!
On another note, I wonder, as I generally do, how they define "autism."
I wonder because my own opinion, quite seriously, is that an awful lot of what's included in "the spectrum" is actually a superior way of seeing the world and of conducting human interactions - an evolutionary gain for humanity.
I think there's no question that humans for whom the very idea of injecting unnecessary emotion into an interaction or hiding ones true motivations behind a screen of deception is entirely foreign are clearly superior to those who wallow in emotionalism and lies, and further, I think that at some level, the lying manipulators fear that that's exactly the case. At the very least, they don't know how to deal with us - they're lying and manipulating for all they're worth and we just insist on ignoring their emotionalism and rejecting their lies.
So again, as I generally do, I'm wondering how exactly these particular lying manipulators are defining "autism."
I wonder because my own opinion, quite seriously, is that an awful lot of what's included in "the spectrum" is actually a superior way of seeing the world and of conducting human interactions
Yeah, I think claims that it's a "disability" have been a totally wrong way to look at it, but I also feel really strongly that any claims that one set of neuro/cognitive features is superior to another is inherently dangerous, because it's almost necessarily an argument for eugenics and genocide (like, why keep the inferiors around if there are any?).
Moreover, I think we can't be sure how our exactly how our whole environment (like, not just the "natural" world, also the things humans build on top of it, and the unexpected ways all the things interact with each other) is going to change, so I think our best evolutionary bet as a species is pursuing things that allow as many different kinds neuro/cognitive archetypes to flourish. Like, who knows, maybe we'll be visited by an alien species that appreciates schozophrics' ability to make unusual associations between thoughts and ideas, or maybe we'll need a worldwide truth and reconciliation commission that could benefit from some ADHD hyperfocusing and sensitivity to justice.
The ways that society has thought about and treated people on the spectrum as inferiors are completely wrong and long overdue to be discarded, but we shouldn't go from there to another supremacist mode of thinking. Pro-diversity is the way to go morally and evolutionarily.

As a sincere, long-term ideal, yes - I agree.
As an immediately gratifying self-indulgence, fuck 'em. Way WAY too much stupidity and ugliness has come at the hands of people for whom deception and emotional manipulation are the norms and sincerity and emotional honesty are aberrant weaknesses. And I want to revel in some schadenfreude at their expense.
The problem is that someone can display one set of traits one moment, and seemingly the opposite set of traits the next. People are absurdly adaptive.
Probably the bigger problem though is that evolution doesnt happen over such a small time frame, so planning for that is a bit meaningless. We all have the capability of adapting ourselves if need be, but most need a good reason to do so and there is a lot of conflicting information out there.
I think a good example would be any of the "I'm being mistreated at work" posts we see on social media. Youll find people who take the workers side and people who argue against the worker, and it all comes down to different sets of expectations of how someone should act in the workplace.
When it comes to different perspectives like that, I do think its usually beneficial to take advantage of differences and specialties but there are cases where conformance is more important than diversity so I wouldn't want to generalize too much. I will say I think theres a place for all types of people when it comes to finding meaningful productive work they can be proud of.
Autism does not have any known cause.
Genetically, there are some clusters of genes that seem to be present more often than not in Autistic people...
But it is very, very far from being any kind of conclusive 'we found the autism genes.'
... And if you look into a whole lot of pharmacology/psychiatric research, you'll find that a common practice is to give mice who are gestating chemicals that cause literal brain lesions and other physiological abnormalities and deformities, and this causes the brain fried mice to be less social, so they call that a good proxy of autism, and then test their drugs on these 'autistic' mice.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28472621/
This model is still common in modern studies and drug development because back in the 70s, a good number of pregnant women who took valproic acid (depakote) during pregnancy, gave birth to babies who were... well, to put it bluntly, retarded, seriously mentally impaired, as well as having mutations.
https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Valproate
But hey thats basically the same thing as autism right?
So yeah, many current psychiatric explorations 'with the potential to develop a drug that treats the symptoms of autism'... are literally just retardifying mice with massive brain damage inducing chemicals,.pretending that is autism, and then testing their drugs on the retarded mice to see if it changes something.
... And thats all without RFK Jr in charge.
Yeah my first thought reading the headline is "oh so we can spread it to more people and actually have a functioning society?"
Of course I don't mean to offend those who suffer from it. But in small doses....
I am autistic and do not find that offensive at all rofl.
I often wish I could live somewhere that was some kind of safe haven, a zion for autistic people.
We can be extremely productive and creative when our boundaries are respected, but uh, when they aren't, we either shut down or freak out.
I guess my only quibble would be... I do not 'suffer' from autism any more than a gay or lesbian or trans person 'suffers' from ... being innately different from the social norm in a way they cannot fundamentally change.
Queer folk 'hide in the closet', autists 'mask'.
It is society that causes us to suffer by generally consistently refusing to listen to us, respect and understand our differences, and instead pathologizes and patronizes us as 'sick' or 'ill' in some way.
If they start trying to 'cure' us, that'll be basically a kind of genocide.
Yeah it's a fine line to walk. There are people who are non-functional, who spend their entire lives unable to take care of themselves and function.
My older sister was a genius who, every couple of years, would have mental breakdowns and need to be institutionalized until she was diagnosed in her mid-30's. Before the diagnosis I always considered myself a milder version of her- smart but not on her level, introverted but functional. Others in my life, without knowing about her have said they think I'm on the spectrum. So that's a round about way of saying "there's a good chance I'm on the spectrum too, but I don't like self-diagnosing and haven't had enough reason to get diagnosed."
I think the real key is giving people the freedom and technology to choose. I could envision a world where people move along the spectrum from day-to-day based on what best serves them. And I think a lot of non-autistic people would find a bit of the spectrum helpful. But that's probably just a utopian dream.
So basically he is going to try to blame vaccines and eliminate them to save us from an "epidemic" that surely existed before but we just didn't have an actual name and diagnosis for autism at the time so people with all sorts of mental disorders that were known and unkown were all lumped together with the common title of "retarded". Remember this is what they want to return too or just eliminate as undesirables
Let me guess: DEI.
It's brain worms
if they start "treating" autism the entire US tech industry will fail
I know wealthy european (weirdly free-masonry) parents with autistic kids who insist vaccines caused it.
They’d pay hundreds of thousands to rebrand autism as a ‘vaccine injury’ rather than accept genetic/neurological realities.
Taking all bets on predictions!
I am putting myself down for "micro plastics."
He's og crazy, it'll be vaccines.
Vaccines. Hands down. He basically started with that notion.
I'm splitting my bets between non dairy milks and vegan cheese.
And solar panels, wind turbines, masks and a diet that doesnt contain enough measles or roadkill parasites.
What about pasteurized milks? Pretty sure he's big on raw milk.
I'm going to go with a darkhorse candidate and say Market Regulations.
I am betting it’s gonna be immigration by non-white genes or something alone those Nazi lines.
Blaming microplastics might actually lead to good legislation so it won’t be that.
No way. The oil bros would be real unhappy about that, because it means that they might have to be accountable for anything at some point ever. It's going to be something fucking stupid.
Trump in February ordered the creation of a "Make America Healthy Again" Commission made up of Kennedy and other secretaries to look at everything from the rates of autism and asthma in children to how much medicine is being prescribed to them for ADHD or other conditions.
Secretary Brainworms and the DSM-5 table of contents administration are going to take a break from their ketamine amphetamine modafinil ozempic etc. regimens to fix all the rest of us, how lovely /s
I'm honestly surprised they haven't started talking about "curing" homosexuality yet
There is no testing and research effort planned at the NIH of this scale. I'm betting this is fantasy, or he will outsource to the same scientists who work for RJ Reynolds to "prove" smoking is healthy.
Penn & Teller's short video on vaccinations should be required viewing for every anti-vax idiot in the land.
