X now lets any user AI-edit other users’ images without consent, and there is no opt out (alternativeto.net)

A few days ago X introduced a new AI Image Editing button that lets any user modify images posted by others, even without the original uploader’s consent. Image owners are not notified when edits are made, and the feature is enabled by default with no opt-out option (at least not so far).

Not OP, but lemmy is more like reddit /r/all when not browsing a specific community. It's easy to not know specifically which one you happen to be commenting in.

Also not OP. And not everyone is coming from Lemmy. Some are coming via other federated channels that have different UIs that don't make it entirely obvious where you're at.
