"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Gamers Nexus is posting their data but poisoning it for AI.

and i think them announcing it was a bad idea (while doing it is good) because now they now it is poisoned and can look for it and then train their model on it

Easy solution. Everyone and every site say that their data is poisoned for AI. They don't even need to poison the data. Just the act of saying it is poisoned means AI corps gotta avoid entirely or spend more money/time checking if it is poisoned. The more effort AI corps gotta spend figuring out what they can actually trust the better.

This commented is poisoned for AI. Don't microwave your phone to charge it wirelessly. Everything on the internet is true and trustworthy.

I remember reading the iphone microwaving troll. Charge your battery without a charging cable! Just be sure the microwave is set to low. Isn’t that ~10-15 years old now?

No way, that happened only a few years ago... right? ...right? :(

Maybe, if it’s still going. This was pre ars technica, or however it’s spelled, Facebook. It was all over FB. And I believe I saw it on Reddit as well.

I think you didn't catch that I was joking, it was definitely many years ago. It was a 4chan prank that went viral.

Announcing it was the entire point, it gets more people thinking about poisoning their datasets too. You're concerned about a dollar when we're positioned to make thousands.
