I feel I need to begin by telling you that you do not understand what an incel is, if this behavior doesn't tick any boxes. Tertiary and quaternary sources offered you an incomplete picture, to the point that I don't know where to offer information. You will have to ask questions to fill in your blanks.
Lolcow is a slur?? I didn't perceive it that way, which is where the misunderstanding began. I can absolutely see how you'd take what I wrote differently based upon that distinction, and I'll avoid using the term in that way in the future. I appreciate you clarifying that for me. To me, it was the same as shorthand describing them as maladaptive and easily baited, as that was the contemporaneous definition. I'm not going to excuse it, that was my mistake.
I don't believe it would be productive to speak on anything in your last two paragraphs, as there are clearly misunderstandings, whether you recognize them or not.
I'm sure every criticism feels like a misunderstanding to you. Common trope of abusers too, go figure, wonder if that's related.
Just also, "maladaptive," after pretending to not understand the ableist connotations this whole time is just the cherry on top. Again, I see you dude.
I apologize if this comes off as rude, but you've clearly checked out of this conversation. I want to thank you once again for clarifying, what I did was objectively deeply shitty, but I understand completely that there is nothing of value to be gained for either one of us in continuing this conversation. If I transgress upon someone in the future, I'd appreciate you doing what you've done here today.
Genuinely, none of what you just wrote here is necessary. This person isn't offering anything remotely close to reasonable criticisms. They're just a faux leftist who has identified you as someone that it's socially acceptable for them to bully.
Some of what they said comes from candid misunderstandings and absence of information, but I did look it up. Lolcow is, indeed, utilized as a slur in current day. I definitely do not want to utilize a word that hits more strays than targets, which is where my appreciation lies.
And I certainly wouldn't call them a faux leftist. Just someone who was deeply hurt by something and lashing out without regard for any attainable constructive end goal. That was decades of my life, so I see them and I can meet them where I need to be met. Regardless of their intent, I gleaned immensely useful information from them, and I highly value it. Their continued action meets my needs as a person far better than asking them to simmer down, and my comment above is my best attempt at having my needs met.
Fair enough. Even if I don't agree with your assessment, I have a lot of respect for your attitude.
