It is honestly so difficult to explain to people like this that they're being harmful even when they recognize one element of that harm and take it as the endpoint. You just compared this to an online cultural space that literally advocates for and has facilitated dozens of mass murders under the premise of misogyny and aggrieved entitlement. Maybe if those things are comparable to you, you aren't the right person to be talking about it, and presuming you are is exactly what the issue is.

If you call someone an asshole, that is not the same thing as calling them a slur, and either choice represents different kinds of people. It is not that you were a big stinky meanie, but that the beliefs behind these words are fundamentally bigoted. Yes, fucking lolcow culture that enabled the mass harassment of disabled people, often younger, sometimes even to the point of suicide, is not a suitable thing to refer to some person being weird about something you find gross. Even if you look at this as harassment, comparing it to fascist terrorists only serves to obscure the specificity and ideology of that culture and its very real politics as well as the hundreds of people who have been killed because of it (and that's without even addressing how this culture is directly linked to the current popularity of fascist politics in the US, then we're really talking about a mass scale of suffering you think is trivial).
