Yes, that is why I didn't say they would be using LLMs.

Knowledge is a separate thing from intelligence. Even the smartest person in the world is ignorant of tons of stuff because it hasn't come up in their life yet.

Intelligence can make it easier to collect knowledge, or to better understand it, but they are separate things.

Pattern recognition for assisting with diagnosis, treated similarly to lab work and other techniques that still require a human to verify. Also for developing new medicines and treatments, all with human confirmation but as a tool to help identify what to focus on.

Not knowing their age, I still go with anything PG13 or your local equivalent is likely to be fine for most kids depending on what they like and how they react to different situations. My kiddo liked Jurrasic World at 10, but couldn't handle Jurrasic Park because JP did a better job at making scary scenes scary.

I enjoyed a lot of Rated R movies as a kid, especially when the rating was from language. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles wasn't any more adult than Uncle Buck except for the F bomb laden rental scene. Both are completely appropriate for kids around 10 years old with parental guidance if needed.

We never hid cursing from our kiddo and she didn't repeat it elsewhere, so it really came down to what held her attention and what seemed like something we felt might need some explaining.

As always with the exception of ADHD communities which every single member feels like I knew them for years no matter which site.

I think that the ADHD community takes things that other posters say at their word instead of making a bunch of assumptions. That is my general experience as someone with ADHD, things in a conversation are being said in good faith unless there is an obvious contradiction. Many conversations with neurotypical people feel like I'm participating in a conversation where the other person's past experiences are being projected on to me instead of listening to what I'm saying.

Communication is a two-way street. If one person fails to understand what you’re trying to say, that may be their fault. But if nobody seems to understand what you’re trying to say, if this is happening to you regularly enough that you have to ask this kind of question, maybe you’re not being clear enough.

While this is a great thing to consider, sometimes it is hard to figure out because people are responding to a bunch of things other than what you are saying, or because they assume what you mean is different than what you are saying. In those cases maybe the topic isn't worth discussing.

Hell, I’ve even read over things, submitted a post, and then gone right back to edit because I saw something else needed.

There is a distinct lack of off center buttholes.

I was commenting on the quality of the decision because different people are at different development stages in their late teens and there is a massive difference between dating someone one's own age and twice their age. Hell, there is a huge difference between a 16 year old dating a senior in high school and a 22 year old in college.

You first: What is the minimum age you think someone should be able to make their own decisions about having sex with a 42 year old?

Yeah, being a for profit business guarantees they won't be about creative expression that doesn't have a monetary incentive in the short term or long term.

Even the examples of a studio financing a movie because someone in power wants it to exist despite knowing it won't make bank have an underlying expectation that other projects the director will work on (or has in the past) generate more revenue than is lost on that project.

Biggie Smalls, Biggie Smalls, Biggie Smalls!

There is a difference between recycling an existing story by re-imagining it and throwing out generic slop with a nostalgia filter. The Terminator and Halloween are the same story if you ignore the details. Indiana Jones was an homage to the old adventure serials.

Having the same overall structure can make something the same story at the surface level, but how it is implemented is what makes it fresh and original. Nostalgia bait is not putting the effort into making something new and fun, but instead focusing on how they can cram member berries in so people can remember the better movie as a distraction from the slop they are watching.

Not all movies with nostalgia moments are nostalgia bait either. Good sequels exist too.

I'm sick and it is still snowing so I didn't do the whole patio, but did scoop two paths for the dogs to reach some grass. Can't do one because they will assume the other side would have been better and just hold it in.

Will need to redo them in a few hours when the dogs are ready to go again.
