Symlinked? Clone community? Instance post?

Dude, what?

I dont see the issue

The issue is you've thought about this, made up terms that make sense in your head on the path to your conclusion, and have just jumped ahead to conclusion when posting instead of taking others along the same path. I could also go "stirling sticks are superior to warble sticks, isn't it obvious? The stirling stick is multi-faceted in its use, but the warble stick can only be used for consistent 'viscosity'. I don't see the issue".

Of course that is too. I'd probably be hauled off or sent back for not having a reddit and facebook account because "it's suspicious".

There are nazis that call themselves left because they have the word "socialist" in their name. Pepe was used by nazis and the news focused on that despite it being used for nothing related to right-wing shit for ages before. I could claim I'm a cat and that the trees are blue. J.K Rowling can claim she's a feminist.

Making arguments as if there is no middle ground, no center, no gray, no middle, is an absolutist, USAian perspective.

I'm guessing it's not doing you much good if you still think there's only 2 sides.

Crossposting doesnt even work

What do you mean? Many posts have "crossposted from" in their description or as part of the page. Mbin shows all other crossposts and in the default lemmy GUI you can click through the crosspost chain.

there should be a post type so that all content is read-only and the interactions (likes, comments) are redirected to the original post

That's just centralisation with extra steps. Also, imagine somebody is blocked from the original posting instance. Does that mean they can't interact with the post at all?

Isn't it great how deregulation works? Maybe you shouldn't have allowed all those companies to move their production to China. Maybe, it's about time countries learn that a major reliance on a single "partner" can become a major threat.

Diversity is a strength if done properly.

I was planning on a possible visit to the US in 2026 to visit friends, but that ain't happening now. There's no way I'm willingly putting money into that economy.

It's a community choice. Has nothing to do with "tech savvy". There are generalist communities, language orientated communities, activity orientated communities, and many more. Presenting it as a "technological choice" is just a meme at this point. It's like saying "I want to live Paris because they speak French and love the night life" vs "you know what, I like beaches more and the island life where people are more about easy living, so I'll go to Zanzibar". But people frame it as if they had to choose the city because of the altitude, soil composition, which hemisphere it is on, the greenhouse ppms, and the wetbulb temperature. And then it's repeated ad nauseam to keep the meme alive.

Stop helping Facebook and Reddit by framing it as a technological choice. It's a cultural one. "idgaf" --> take a generalist website. "I'm queer and it's important" --> LGBTQIA+ website. "bits and bytes for me please" --> technological website. "I just can't stop cumming" --> NSFW website.

US American culture and politics. I wish people would stop worshipping that country just because it exports popular films and music. They have destroyed and still destroy democracies all over the world, fuel wars, exploit developing countries, still sell the image of them being "a free country" and "the american dream".

South Korea is heading toward a demographic collapse unlike anything the world has seen before. With the lowest fertility rate ever recorded and a rapidly aging population, the country faces a future of economic decline, shrinking cities, cultural erosion, and a vanishing workforce.
By 2060, nearly half of South Koreans could be over the age of 65, and entire regions may be abandoned as the population continues to shrink.
How did South Korea reach this point? Why might it no longer be possible to reverse the trend? And what does this mean for other countries on a similar path?

Important part of @EUCommission's response:

Conclusion

While there is currently no formal project to establish an "EU Linux," there are many ongoing
initiatives that support the adoption of open source solutions within public administrations
across Member States. These efforts contribute to the EU’s broader objectives of transparency,
security, and technological independence in the digital domain.
