"Trump has given tacit approval to Israeli actions since the ceasefire came into effect on January 19. More than 90 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israeli attacks. Israel has also violated the ceasefire by obstructing the delivery of heavy machinery to start clearing away rubble; preventing the delivery of mobile homes and tents to temporarily shelter the people of Gaza, especially in the almost totally destroyed north; delaying the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners; and now by refusing to leave the Philadelphi Corridor.

All of this has taken place without comment from Washington. Trump has gotten what he most wanted in the short term, a ceasefire and more hostages freed. He may well see all the remaining Israeli hostages returned home, and that will be his victory. "

The status quo, indeed.

What happened to Trump Gaza? Just another stunt I see. Sick of this reality TV show. I want boring politics and to help my fellow countrymen.

[–] unphazed@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago

Wasn't even a stunt. It was just callous, demented, and sick.

So they inherited democrat policy on the issue.

I hope Netanyahu has to answer to his actions in the near future.

Based on my frequent listening to behind the bastards, I'd say chances of that are low. Best we can probably hope for is really painful illness leading to a slow death.

if biden doesnt have to, then neither will netanyahu.

One is definitely more guilty than the other.

one successfully fooled western world via duplicity while the other was candid the entire time, i'm not so sure if one was worse that the other; but does it matter since neither will answer for their actions?

One was definitely much worse than the other.

You're splitting hairs about genociders

It's a very large difference. Which is the opposite of splitting hairs.

[–] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No, not really. They're both genociders

In the sense that the Nazi in charge of operating the gas chamber was more guilty than the Nazi who refills the gas between use, I suppose.

[–] Petter1@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

The comparison would be the Nazi who sold all the gas to Nazis (US gets Army toy hacking software from Israel. They have supposedly the best spyware on sale, and US secures good deals by supporting Isreal.

Well, at least that is how I interpret the situation.

AIPAC bought politicians of both major parties. Liberals support Israel because of "Western civilization, democracy and liberalism" and conservatives support it because of "Judeo-Christian values, Jesus second coming and Armageddon".

“The man who ends wars” 🤦🏻how can anyone believe a word coming out of this disgusting mouth?

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

That shot of two tyrants with a picture of Jefferson looking on is interesting. "The tree of liberty is dying of thirst, I see."

If it was up to the Israeli government they would be flattening Gaza twice over again. But something is still holding them back. Possibly the Arab league pressuring Trump with that sweet oil money?

[–] MisanthropiCynic@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

Exactly. Its amazing to me Gaza or the West Bank still have a single Muslim inhabitant.

[–] dx1@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The facade of having souls to their supporters is the only thing holding them back.

[–] Global_Liberty@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 month ago

I thought Trump announced a plan of genocide to allow for his fantasy of bearded belly-dancers per the video he posted.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago

This has little to do with the Trump administration, as if that's a factor.
Unconditional support for the genociders Together with giving money to the military complex, banks, rich people and warmongering. Those are the eternal bipartisan pillars that can never be touched.
All you get to decide is which side executes it.
