Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Anybody who doesn't have anti-israel policies at this point is a piece of shit.

[–] BertramDitore@lemm.ee 39 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This Jew whole-heartedly agrees with you.

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 9 points 2 years ago

Fortunately we have had anti-zionist voices for as long as the idea of Zionism existed

[–] pgetsos@fedia.io 96 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Shouting about antisemitism every single time someone criticizes the GOVERNMENT of Israel surely will stop working sometime?

[–] alcoholicorn@lemmy.ml 28 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It works on boomers and germans.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I'm German and it didn't work on me so shut your trap

[–] SwordInStone@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

not individuals, but German government

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

How are you not in prison? I thought they arrested Germans who protested the genocide, no? I even saw them attacking Jews in the name of "antisemitism"

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Are you serious or is that sarcasm?

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I am serious. The German police arrested Jews in the name of antisemitism.

It does sound absurd, but it also happened in the US on college campuses

afaict the greatest threat of antisemitism in the past year has been police attacking Jews in the name of "preventing antisemitism"

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

From what I looked up right now people where arrested for use of signs of unconstitutional organizations, defamation, incitement to racial hatred, bodily harm and property damage.

I couldn't find anything about Jews being arrested for being antisemitic so do you have some sources for me?

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Well the problem is the police conflait anti Zionism with anti semitism. Same issue in the US.

Peacefully say that Israel is committing a genocide and should not exist because the Nakba, and they'll (wrongly) say you're spreading antisemitic hate speech and arrest you.

[–] Jumi@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago

So you got no source then? For anything?

I don't trust the news 100% but if I find dozens of articles on different sites saying one thing and almost nothing saying the other thing it's obvious what I think to be more believable.

Also, both sides exaggerate their stories so nothing I haven't seen with my own eyes is trustworthy to begin with.

You should stop believing you can seperate problems so black and white. There's always more to it and the Middle Eastern stuff didn't start yesterday but it's been going on for centuries and is so muddy that even people whose job it is have a hard time understanding what is going on.

So my opinion is fuck the perpetrators on both sides and peace for the victims.

Seeya, don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.

[–] RangerJosie@lemmy.world 23 points 2 years ago

Based Ireland.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 16 points 2 years ago

Hey Ireland ya could do something real fucken funny to the Israelis. After all they are about as bad as the English.

[–] Mwa@lemm.ee 12 points 2 years ago

whatever Ireland is doing they should keep doing it to close a terrorist states embassy.

[–] PDiddyDo@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Using "Anti-semitic" here seems to deny Arabs their existence. Strange that

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 2 points 2 years ago

This is ironic as the arbs are a semitic people too

[–] b161@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 years ago

“Israeli” embassies should not exist anywhere.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Bibi clearly has aggressive dementia to think cutting all diplomatic ties with any EU state is a good idea. Even if USA, Canada, and UK still provide military equipment and training they need the other NATO members for food, transit, and other support across Europe into the middle east.

He's really setting himself up for collapse of the Israel government.
