Saw this dipshit at a conference last week. He's leaning into the jacket jokes and it couldn't be more cringey. My industry is fucked and is buying into the marketing hype whole-ass. There are some applications in the field but what people don't seem to get is that for every round of applause this fuckwit gets, hundreds or thousands of people stand to lose their jobs. We live extremely dumb times.

If you have to have a news announcement about the arrival of AGI, then it has not arrived.
No, they have decided what everyone was calling AGI is now "ASI", so they can now arbitrarily declare they did what they promised but still need tons of resources to get where everyone thought they were promising.

However over the next five years there will build enough data centres to cover half the planet, and still won't have invented AGI, but at least we'll be on chatGPT 19 but then.
