I'm writing this from the future, October 2028, from my desk on America St., America, in America County, capital of the state America, in the America-West region of America, to issue a warning...

Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
Wait till he realizes there's places called South and Central America.
Well obviously, he’s supreme ruler of those too!
Seems like America is becoming the new Taco Bell.
Honestly Taco Bell is one of America's best institutions.
What if he learns that America is named after Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian who couldn't ever have been a US citizen because he died over 250 years before the USA even existed.
I dont know if I could roll my eyes any harder.
I think the same thing every week and I dont think my eyes can take it anymore
Holy Shit! I have been saying he was going to rename New Mexico as New America as a joke! I can't believe he actually IS that insane.
I'm considering renaming the United States of America to Cringetopia
Oligarchia would be more on the nose.
Pedophilia.
Send grandpa to bed. Permanently.
For a nice long dirt nap.
I think his obsession with renaming things is so he can have his "legacy" where people a hundred years from now will read in school how the gulf of america used to be called gulf of Mexico until Donald J Trump renamed it.
This way he can do it immediately and without any approvals or permissions from anyone else and it doesn't cost a dime (upfront that he needs permission for, it still costs millions to remake maps and public education posters/billboards and school textbooks and government websites, etc.)
He just doesn't have the foresight to recognize that whatever president comes next will just revert all changes.
He doesn't care. He's trying to tank the US in every way possible so that he and his billionaire friends can buy it up in a fire sale, and create 13-15 tech dominated duchies/kingdoms that own all the people in their borders. That's why they only want a total of 150,000,000 people alive by the end of 2028. They think their robots will be able to control us, not realizing that they don't work, won't work, and we can create portable EMP devices.
Wait until he finds out about New York, New England, New Hampshire or even better, New Lebanon, Ohio or New Palestine, Indiana
There is clearly a vengeful god at work since at least 2015, and you are giving them ideas.
We have reached the point where I genuinely cannot tell reality from satire.
"Is this real? Am I eating the onion?"
I don't even know anymore.
He should change the name of the "United States of America" to the "American Americas of America"
Also, the US: "the UN should spend their time doing other things than worrying about maps."
Those who accuse someone of having Trump derangement syndrome should be called pedophile defenders.

Oh and how about the gas prices soaring due to shortages, because he fucked up in Iran when thinking that would be another distraction?
I posted this somewhere last week but it's just as relevant here:
I listened to this podcast recently:
Well, so we know we went and saw him in the middle of the war. I mean, early stages of the war, very intense period of the war, about two weeks and a bit into the war with Iran. And he the thing he first thing he wanted us to see, he was holding up photographs of maple trees. And he's saying, you know, I'm buying these maple trees for the White House. Turns out I'm good at buying trees. And then underneath it were photographs of the ballroom and the columns. He wanted us to know the columns are, I think, bigger than the Supreme Court's columns or more of them or what have you. And one side was inspired by Athens and the other side by Rome. This occupied probably first 15 minutes of our time with him before we got to anything to do with the Iran war.
and earlier ...
It's truly an inordinate amount of his time is spent redecoration, renovation, the ballroom, but also building monuments and naming things after himself. It's become an obsession. And we have a scene in the book, actually, in the Oval Office last October where he he's talking to a couple of visitors about he wants to build essentially a replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Washington, which they call internally the Arc de Trump. You know, he's got different models of it. There's a huge one, a middle one, a small one. You know, he wants it to be bigger than the Lincoln Memorial. Anyway, he's in the room with some of his agents. He says, let's call Emmanuel. Let's call Emmanuel. Ask because he had some questions he wanted to know about the Arc de Triomphe, which presumably he could have just Googled. [...] But instead, he gets Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, on the speakerphone. And he starts asking Emmanuel, you know, does your arch have a viewing platform? Do people jump off it? You know, all this. How big is the arch? You know, all these sort of questions about the arch. So I just there's no way that I can overstate how much time is spent on these matters.
(emphasis added)
That last sentence has really stuck with me.
Renaming bodies of water is incredibly stupid, but the names were arbitrary to begin with and probably not legally binding.
States have their own sovereignty, constitutions, and laws. You can’t overcome that with an executive order. You shouldn’t be able to overcome that with an act of Congress signed by the president.
Lake Ontario at least wasnt entirely arbitrary. It was named that way because of the first nations people's who lived there and called it that.
He is the dog that finally caught the car. He never knew why he chased it, just that there was a need within him to chase it. And because he expended so much effort into chasing the car he now needs to demonstrate to all the other dogs that he totally knew what he was doing the whole time and even more totally knows what a car is and what to do with it.
This is why he doesn't actually do anything truly "presidential." His idea of being president is the same as when my kid was 8 and said "if I'm ever president, I'm gonna..." and then some cute but completely totalitarian nonsense comes out their mouth. Just as he's the poor man's idea of a rich man, he's a child's idea of the president.
Someone made a joke about this when the Lake Ontario shit was happening. Now their joke is becoming reality.
Can we joke about deteriorating health of the orange man? Man would that be funny.
Just to be clear, he hasn't renamed shit. No one is actually gonna follow these bullshit renames after he's dead or out of office. People in every other country and half of your own won't and anyone who does is gonna be a laughing stock. Fucking moronic shit the media spends time legitimizing.
He's got to know all of these will be changed back when he fucking finally dies, right? Right?
None of these things change the name. they direct the federal government to use that name but in the case of a state he might actually have stumbled onto something that is unconcstitutional.
I find it slightly ironic that "America" is derived from Amerigo, as in Amerigo Vespucci, a in an Italian. As in, someone not from America. But then again, roughly 96% of us aren't "from here". Anti immigration perhaps, but not anti conquest somehow.
People keep giving him the attention and outrage he’s after. And he loves scribbling his name of shit.
Of course he’s going to keep doing it
Oh yeah, US midterms are coming. Finally realised what's driving this guys maniac episode.
What other shitty thing(s) is his administration doing that needs burying in the news cycle?
