The original comment:

I would put a urinal in as well. [...] I’ve seen what other savages do to the toilet seat when they have to hit a stationary target from a couple feet away.

This guy:

Piss-soaked floors smell worse, but that’s not a urinal problem per se.

My comment:

Are you really suggesting that the addition of a urinal to a non-gender specific toilet would make it smell better ?

Your comment:

[toilets and urinals] will stack one on top of another, not cancel with each other.

In this context:

  • my comment is not a straw man but responds to both the piss-soaked floor guy and the original comment
  • you seem to agree with me. Added urinal means worse smell.

If only there was a single device that could act as a receptacle and disposal for both pee and poo.

All jokes and snarky witticisms aside, the correlation between sex crimes and conservative politics is remarkable.

If that's FOMO then pretty much every decision could be considered FOMO. I decided to put my shoes on this morning because I was worried everyone else wearing shoes would enjoy the advantages there-of and I would miss out.

Well, I'm not sure that's the correct use of the term but even if it were, my question is: why does nobody do that?

IDK how much parents "modelling" things really helps.

My parents fell for every scheme they encountered their entire lives.

Watching them taught me to be very critical of that kind of thing. I guess they did model what not to do.

No, I think with NFTs people were just looking at the bitcoin train they had missed out on, and thought NFTs would be the next big crypto thing.

Mostly they thought it was just the next big thing.

I think this unique. Not really FOMO and certainly not investing.

I think you can kind of fork this path:

  • blame parents
  • realise they did what they thought was best
  • still be messed up
  • wallow in misery continually making the same mistakes every day
  • accept your mediocrity

That's not my observed experience.

Actually I think it's simply that Kim Jong Un says nice things to Trump and is Trump's kind of guy, while his counterpart in SK Lee Jae Myung is a kind of bad ass progressive.

Perhaps someone will be along in a moment to tell me how wrong I am but from wikipedia Myung seems to have a pretty amazing story:

Lee grew up in poverty and often missed social activities because his family lacked the funds, relying on school faculty's support to join field trips and community events. He cited fishing along the creek with friends as one of his favorite pastimes

Like other children from poor families, Lee worked in a handmade necklace factory instead of attending middle school. When the necklace factory went bankrupt, he found work at Dongma Rubber. Because he was underage, he worked under various aliases. While working there, Lee injured his finger

After the first accident, Lee left Dongma Rubber and worked for Daeyang Industry. There, an industrial press crushed his wrist joint in a second injury. The wound went untreated and resulted in a permanent arm disability.

Lee has stated his own experience with severe poverty inspired his political philosophy of "suppressing the strong, helping the weak" (억강부약; 抑強扶弱; eokgangbuyak), which seeks to curb the privileges and excesses of the powerful and support society's poorest members

... [becomes lawyer] ...

After opening his own lawyer's office, Lee organized for labour and human rights with the lawyers' organization Minbyun, working with the heads of labour counselling centers in Incheon and Gwangju. In 1995, he started a civic movement as a founding member of the 'Seongnam Citizens' Association'. He gained fame as a lawyer and social activist in relation to the "Park View" preferential sale case, where an investigation suggested corruption in the awarding of building permits and preferential sales of property in Bundang to government officials.

On 2 January 2024, Lee was stabbed in the left side of his neck while holding a question and answer session with reporters after touring the construction site of a planned new airport located on Gadeokdo in Busan.

Lee gained international attention in 2024 when, after President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law and attempted to stop the National Assembly from convening using the military, he continued to go to the Assembly building anyway. Lee started a livestream on his YouTube channel, recording himself in a car driving to the National Assembly and climbing the National Assembly building fence to bypass the military personnel.

What a guy. I suspect that he is one of the few national leaders who has refused to felate Trump's ego.

No. That's not how the law works.

It has costs, not negative value.
