Evil continues to win.
Work Reform
A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
The only vegetable the FDA has yet to recall.
Part of the problem is Mitch McConnell's absence advantages the Democratic party since it leaves the vote vacant as absent.
If a special election were had, a Republican would surely replace McConnell, and they would vote on the Senate floor.
This lends evidence McConnell is still alive, and the GOP is unwilling to pressure his administration to step down. It's a situation similar to Diane Feinstein.
No one gives up power until its pried from their cold, dead hands.
It might be proper to pass forcing officials to step down id they are absent for a set length of time, and to mandate periodic proof-of-life correspondence in order to keep elected office. Confirmations of life and condition by a professional under penalty of perjury during absence might also be in order. But this is all conversation for the post-revolution constitutional committee.
That's not too bad. Remember when they uncovered a child pedophelia ring, locked up a women and then told us we're moving on from it.
He's on sick leave. Which would be totally normal in Europe.
The irony here is that he gets to enjoy what he has worked rabidly his entire life to deny his fellow citizens.
Fuck this walking corpse.
Except in most American jobs you would be fired by now for being on sick leave this long
Yes, that's one of the things that happens in this violent and inhumane nation. I now live in Europe, and I had a lot more than 75 days of sick leave when I had my amputation. I still have my job and my employer isn't mad at me in the slightest, because here it's understood that shit happens and that's life.
Now the orange felon has made it nearly impossible for americans to leave because the world hates our guts even more. I'd be embarrassed to even go to another country without a short that just says SORRYYYYYY on it.
I certainly would be careful about saying you're American if you go on vacation abroad. But I'm a long-time expat, and I can tell you if you behave well and you integrate in the society of your choice, people know the difference between ugly Americans and those who choose to be better.
Mitch would croak so fast if he heard that Congress passed a bill giving Americans job protection for sick leave equal to the length of his absence.
He's already dead. He would rise from his coffin to vote nay on such a measure.
Yeah, if what was happening to Mitch wasn't so exceptional in America then this would be a non issue.
Americans, btw, what's happening to Mitch is just what happens to ANY PERSON AT ALL in most countries when they are suffering from severe long-term illness and disability.
Yeah, if what was happening to Mitch wasn’t so exceptional in America then this would be a non issue.
It would still be an issue because (a) Kentuckians are missing half of their Senate representation, and (b) because his death is obviously being hidden for bad faith political purposes, to illegally deprive Kentucky's governor of his right to appoint a replacement.
i was told there would be something called "checks and balances"!?
Except that most people in most countries are retired by age 84 and therefore wouldn't be "off" on sick leave in the first place.
But yes, otherwise, the point stands.
Do European leaders keep their authority if they go MIA for months on end?
Hypocrisy.
When it comes out that he’s dead but they waited long enough that there is no time for a special election, they should just have the special election anyway, because he was away from his duties before the deadline.
It’s procedural fuckery to get what you want. he would’ve loved it.
When it comes out that he’s dead but they waited long enough that there is no time for a special election, they should just have the special election anyway, because he was away from his duties before the deadline.
No. Kentucky's governor should just immediately appoint a replacement, because the law requiring a special election was already unconstitutional (according to KY's state constitution) to begin with. Which is also, by the way, probably why they're continuing to conceal his death even after the fake 'deadline' has passed.
At this point they will keep covering up his death until Jan 21st.
AI Mitch will agree with everything the president says!
I dare they make him immortal, since legal death just turns out to be so hilariously circumventable.
Part of the reason for the deadline is so the special election could be held properly with sufficient time to staff and run it how you're supposed to.
Regardless of this fucking chicanery nobody should be pushing to give them excuses to water down election integrity or change established rules on the fly. He can be ousted in the midterms.
Maybe that CIA plane to Moscow was returning his remains.
It’s because we stopped making memes about it
This country is such a joke. And its not even funny.
I think the turtle is dead
At this point the deadline has passed for it to matter for bye-elections. If he was dead why wouldn't they just say so. The whole thing stinks, it hasn't made a lick of sense from the start.
At this point the deadline has passed for it to matter for bye-elections.
Well fuck. I hope there's still time for the hello-elections!
lol
Could be brain dead and they are working on a technicality. Definitely have enough money and resources to keep a pseudo-corpse around for quite awhile.
Nope! Chuck Testa.
They can’t announce it too quickly or else it’ll look suspicious… well, more suspicious than this shit already looks. They think they’re pulling a sneaky
This exactly it. Plus the Kentucky Governor said they're are loop holes they can use if he is dead, so they are delaying for as long as they can. Which likely means until the next GOP person can campaign and run for senator.
Wish he'd hurry up and die so we don't have to keep paying him.
Well, his brain died, so
Exactly, so there's no change to his ability to do his job.
Was he ever using it though?
Wish ~~he’d~~ his handlers would hurry up and ~~die~~ announce his death that happened months ago so we don’t have to keep paying him.
FTFY.
I think he’s been turtle soup for a few weeks now
Well, I don’t live in FarmingCoalFriedChickenHorses-land, so he’s neither of my mumbling turtles, so I stopped giving two shits about it a while ago.
~~MIA~~
Naw we all know he dead. Even where his body is.
How about we all do the same and receive the same benefits... oh right none of us are a corrupt asshole that has received gifts and funding from every shitty company that has been poisoning us and the planet!
That's okay.
All of Congress has been missing for almost 2 years.
More like 10. Maybe they were present during the video admin, I honestly can't recall. Don't remember anything happening In those 4 years other than waiting for the fascists to come back
the Harp bs was probably realesed to distract from it
Everything all the time is a distraction from the two only two things that really matter:
- The upcoming rigged mid-terms and the final entrenchment of the American fascist regime.
- The Epstein files.
Americans will look at chaos around the world, countries being bombed and people dying by the thousands and loudly shout, "Your suffering is just a distraction!"
