Everyone delights in how wonderfully absurd the world is, while performatively following rules in the most ridiculous way possible.
There is a fax machine revival in order to comply with GDPR rules.
Everyone does just the bare minimum amount of work required and 'shower thoughts' also count as work time.
Advertisers, accountants and marketers no longer exist and their profession is outlawed.
All money is placed in a big pot where it is shared and when we need some we take just enough for what we need.
Nobody locks their doors and we all nip over to each others houses to borrow things from time to time. We all have each others back.
Everyone refuses to have sex unless they're deeply in love and both partners are inarguably super hot perfect tens in body, mind, personality, and intellect. Within a couple generations the planet will have a significantly reduced population but everyone will be perfect tens, and everything will progress upward in technology & health & utopia.
...just you wait !!
TBH it might actually be fucked. Not because I'm a bad person, but because I'm adjusted to living in the world we live in. For the first time there's several of me in the same place, and however that turns out is going to happen a lot. There's just bound to be some weird interaction, or some way I'm deficient.
Even outside of magical hypotheticals, a mix of people is a good thing. That can be said definitively, because you can find self-selected monocrops of people "in the wild", and they tend to suck.
First, the struggle to make sure everyone has enough food, shelter, clothes, etc.
Then we have to get people to do the jobs no-one wants to do. Either we automate them or make the job tolerable. Until then, we might rotate workers in and out of duty, spreading the discomfort.
Then we have to adjust to the increased demand for some resources. Just as plumbing increased the demand for water (but also vastly improved living conditions) so will many other resources follow. Getting it all going while keeping it sustainable will be tricky.
And then, someday, maybe centuries later, post-scarcity communism. And according to the Fourth International–Posadists, this will be a prerequisite before we colonize space, or other worlds.
I think, once we regard greed and power consolidation as a treatable illness, human society can do this. But I don't yet comprehend a complete path from here to there.
Traffic would be very efficient. Climate change would be addressed immediately. Billionaires would not exist for very long.
- Streets would begin getting ripped up in favor of public transit
- Queer, disabled, and indigenous rights (mandatory blue hair for everyone! /s)
- All drugs decriminalized, weed and psychedelics legalized but regulated. Addiction treated like a medical/policy issue rather than a criminal issue.
- Billionaires taxed into nonexistence. Anything over $10M taxed at 99%. All of that money would be funneled into schools, healthcare, and public works.
- Promoting fascism would be treated as a hate crime
- Universal healthcare and UBI
- Union and immigrant rights that favor people over corporations
You have my vote!
Oh we are fucked
The good kind, or the bad kind?
If it's me? The good kind.
Also, everyone is now poly but careful about STDs.

No. More trees!
Sure thing boss
Everyone keeps saying ‘no, after you’ and no one manages to get through any doorway as a result and we all die of starvation/exhaustion.
This is too real. As a Canadian, we would also say sorry as well during this process.
- So much open source software.
- Dedicated protected skateboard lanes in all roads.
- No more corporate mergers, of any kind or size But first, all restaurants are Taco Bell.
Religion membership drops to zero overnight. No more war, rape, or child abuse. No child will be born ever again. Landlords, billionaires, and capitalism vanish immediately. Total economic collapse. Infrastructure decays immediately and billions starve.
Just being realistic...
PvP games all turn co-op.
There is more swearing.
People stop worrying about shit in other people's personal lives that doesn't affect themselves or harm anyone.
Scientists expert opinions are respected while their non-expert opinions are treated the same as any other layperson's.
Tattoo artists go out of business.
Cola surpasses tea as the world's most popular beverage. Dentists go to sleep at night knowing their children can go to the college of their choice.
Lawns become local wilderness due to an intense desire to not mow them. Incidentally, local wildlife flourishes.
EV adoption skyrockets, grid solar and battery investment gains focus.
Billions of projects are started, millions are finished.
Scammers reasses their life choices.
I'm pretty sure that the world would have a lot of problems, since everyone would want to do the same things I would, which isn't really what the world needs...
Good luck affording concert tickets when every single person in the world wants to go to that show.
And when the musicians don't want to be performers!
All knowing polluters are instantly evaporated. ALL OF THEM, even the dropper of cigarette butts, no trial, lasered from orbit. Everyone remaining has varying substance abuse issues.
Everyone stops eating meat, dairy at once causing a huge collapse of industry and supply chain jobs. Farms haven't had time to switch use to plants only causing starvation.
No new giant projects are launched because, everyone wants to sit and relax and deal with current issues while sipping a drink on the porch.
Public transit is overloaded as everyone realizes everyone owning a car is a ridiculous and wasteful idea.
Shouldn't be a starvation issue. Though logistics might look interesting for a while in suddenly moving beans and grains to different destinations
There's a good amount of wasted food that could be used, but you suddenly have a whole world not eating meat, eggs, dairy, and all plant based, then there will be a temporary shortage on everything
On the other side, animal feed demand will drop, suddenly humans will be eating the feed stock for livestock. It wont be great, but it will help ease the transition.
If you've ever tried feed grain corn vs sweet corn...its going to be a hard sell lol
Well, if the alternative is starving to death, I imagine we'll figure it out.
Sure, temporary shortages of some things I could totally see. But there should generally be enough food around even if it means eating something you may not like as much for a bit.
In time for sure. It takes 16 x the amount of plant protein to feed/ create the same 1x beef protien. So overtime we could feed everyone easily. Its the interim that will be a mess.
You can also eat things other than protein. We have shitloads of grains.
The world would be a lot more funny and a little less efficient.
Oh, but the memes!
Eh, never considered myself a particularly moral person, but I did end up as a car-hating vegan somehow. So we'd have some pretty nice walkable towns and good falafel places.
It would become remarkably better, assuming they also don't inherit my attachment issues, childhood trauma, and compromised emotional management (unless, of course, they also inherited my intelligence and knowledge, and were all lucky enough somehow to find a loving and patient partner, lol). Since they would all be their own persons with their own interests, strengths and weaknesses, it would be alright, but a world with just me in all ways would be a boring, gray disaster. 🙃😅
Well. Everyone has a balanced life that includes work, exercise if able, fun free time and rest. Everyone has enough to eat and the economy is more at the bottom than the top. All companies are employee owned.
I don't think anything would collapse, there are enough examples of big and small employee owned companies to know it works.
We are not driving much anymore and the city is hella crowded because now nobody wants to live on the outskirts anymore, we all want to live close enough to everything to walk there. we will have to deal with it. But at least it would leave room for farms & wild spaces. Farmers would still want to farm but small farms only oh no everything is expensive but well, no more profits being funneled up and out so we can afford it, it will settle out.
Everyone sees everyone else as reflections of themselves, one soul in billions of subtly different vessels. Naturally we've achieved full communism, since everyone sincerely wants to help each other and make the world a better place. Everyone is against waste and pollution, sustainability becomes a universal goal. Meat production is phased out, professional sports rapidly decline in popularity, entire industries disappear basically overnight. Militaries obviously become unnecessary. Science and scholarship are of the highest value, every community is walkable with at least one library and large-scale makerspace/research facility.
Basically a solarpunk utopia.
Assuming that means they’d act the same way I would, having done what they’d done, a large portion of the global right wing would die by suicide and the rest would be entirely different people from then on
(Nothing of value would be lost)
Carts get put up even in the rain. Blinkers are used properly. All fake sports like murican football and wrestling are at zero attendance.
Physical media is back.
AI usage is reduced to nearly zero, it's now mostly a niche tool used only in specialized fields probably for research. No LLM girlfriend apps or book authors. No more visual slop. People may still use it occasionally but won't take everything at face value.
Cars would be smaller. More buttons less screens. You truly own what you purchase, and that also goes for any electronics and software. Software with subscription models practically disappear. Fast food chains either increase their food quality or disappear too. They would still shrink no matter what.
Rent would become heavily regulated, and reduced. You would see an increase in work from home too, and more flexibility with people's schedules.
I don't know about the "bad morals and habits". Been thinking but can't come around many. I guess you would see a lot less sports, but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Maybe people become more isolated and shut in? But also if they're now sharing more interests maybe that's not the case.
All wars and violent conflict end. All systems are improved by being evidence based. People communicate clearly and misunderstandings are sorted out by just talking more. Nobody lies anymore and people give each other the benefit of the doubt.
Feel free to doubt it, but I don't have any malicious intent and speak openly and clearly about things, not bringing up anything that seems like it would be insulting or being a jerk in general. Just being honest and open about things without making them a big deal or for an audience.
perfect anarchism
