China is just going triple the price of everything and blame the tariffs for it.

You make a good point, let's hold a public hearing to discuss the topic. We will off course need to assemble a task force to organize the meeting.

Sorry your plan failed at form a committee.

You forgot to form a committee to decide who's on the committee.

Agreed, news needs to be held to a higher standard than it is now. There's a whole list of journalist code of ethics that basically distils to be truthful, minimize harm, be independent, and be accountable.

*some example of minimize harm;

  • don't dig through a celebrities trash looking for condoms
  • if there's an accident you don't show pictures of the dismembered victims
  • don't identify victims of abuse
  • don't claim an accusation as fact until proven (this why every news stations says "allegedly" all the time)

I hate those arbitrary cut offs for aid. Oops, you got a raise and now make $28,100 sorry no more medicare. It locks people into low paying jobs because if they make too much, they instantly loose all the benefits that their little raise doesn't match.

if we're not going to do free-for-all, it should at least be on a very large scale,

make less then 28k = 100% covered,

29, 99% covered

30, 98% covered

...

All the way up to when 128k = 0% covered

(You'd have fix healthcare prices too, procedures/medicines are priced so insurance looks like they are doing you a favor "you only had to pay $700 for this $25,000 procedure and the $600 follow up medicine will only cost you $100 a week")

This is Linux, we're already going past the default. But yes, most people stick with whatever is given to them and if brave is the default, then that's a loss for Firefox.

Basically looking a calandar that stays on the deaktop, and can show events (Otherwise I'd just use a wallpaper). I don't need much interaction with it, if any, essentially just open the actaul calandar program. Sync with iCal is a big plus.

While FOSS is ideal, I'm open to anything free (that can be firewalled or is actually private (unlikely, I know))

I found one that used windows 7 widgets, but it was too small and didn't seem to work right anyways.

Does anyone have good experience with android tablets, and possibly replacing the OS? I see some interesting options from Google, lenovo, one plus, etc... I imagine the pixel one will be the easiest to load a new OS to, but I also wonder about the tablet support of things like lineage or graphine.

The hardware doesn't have to be groundbreaking, just good enough to be my "travel laptop" for movies, comics and general interneting. I don't want a laptop, as I often like to sit in chair/bed to read comics or watch movies and a keyboard would make that awkward.

One of my main concerns is the update support - my iPad has been getting updates since 2017, a lot of the android manufactures are promising a pathetic 3 to 5 years. I don't want to be "software bricked" in 5 years (I.e apps eventually requiring an Android version I cannot update to)
