The problem is that we already know how it will impact traffic: it will get worse, a lot worse.
The real issue is what will he go after next? Sidewalks? Removing streetcar and bus priority lanes?
And when that fails? What comes after that?? Remove buildings? Stores?
This madness will only get worse, because the root cause of traffic congestion (people driving) isn't being addressed, and won't be with Ford calling the shots.
Not to mention we already spent tax dollars putting them in, why should we waste money ripping them out just to spend more sticking them in again under a new government?
Because when a new Government has to put them back in, this current Government's supporters can say "see, they're just wasting money!".
Literally creating a problem for someone else.
Because Ford needs you angry about bike lanes while he does his 413 land grab.
That's why bike lanes are in this bill: Ford doesn't care about them, they're just a hail-mary to distract for the other measures in the bill meant to get his highway-to-nowhere built and his developer buddies their ROI.
Toronto is always fucked because the dummy from the rural areas that want to drive their cars to the city. 🤷♂️
People from rural areas don't drive to Toronto very often. It's the drivers from the suburbs that you're thinking of.

Over 1/2 the eligible voters in Ontario couldn't even be arsed to show up to the last election. We're so, SO dumb.
They should have an elevated bike highway so I can ride across town or down the ttc yonge subway corridor but higher up
Sounds like the mayor needs to put a congestion charge on vehicles on those corridors and while they're at it the Gardiner.
Unfortunately, the Gardiner has already been uploaded to the province along with the DVP. Congestion charges require approval from the province (they’ll never approve it).
However, there is the option of installing speed cameras all over major streets, along with more red light cameras to get back at the province.
Red light cameras and speed cameras on doggies path would be fun to see played out. To bad he'll probably get them rescinded somehow. But it would be fun to see how many tickets they could catch him personally for in a single trip
