definitely the latter, but not in bed 'cause i'm also one of those "my body must be a specific temperature to be comfortable and my feet being bare helps dictate this" neurodivergents.

[–] TheKracken@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Hey look it's me.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 30 points 3 weeks ago

Thanks, now I can feel my socks, asshole

[–] crunchy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Both. I have to wear slippers around the house.

[–] SarahValentine@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Same TBH. I wear socks when society/weather demands it, but whenever i can it's bare feet and slides.

[–] red_tomato@lemmy.world 17 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m both. I hate socks, but I also hate the feeling of being bare feet. Plus in the winter months I hate having cold feet.

[–] bigfish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 3 weeks ago

Ah you're a slipper bitch like me!

[–] unemployedclaquer@sopuli.xyz 15 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I didn't know anyone didn't care about the microscopic floor crumbs. Actually the worst is living with someone who doesn't care macroscopic floor crumbs.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 3 weeks ago

Your roommates are messy fucks who spill shit on the floor and don't clean it up, too, eh?

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

This reminds me - I did okay at macroeconomics in college but was horrible at microeconomics.

[–] whysteria@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

my dedicated inside crocs will protect me from the microscopic floor crumbs

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I like to double up on inside crocs and socks

[–] essell@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

But how do you fit the crocs and socks into the 2nd pair of crocs?

Are they a bigger size?

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I just steal my husband’s for the outer pair.

…I’ve actually tried to do this at night when I’m not thinking

[–] RubberDuck@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Second one all the way. Can't stand having bare feet

[–] IronBird@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

i can, but in my personal sanctuary where i know the floors are actually clean.

[–] bunitor@lemmy.eco.br 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

second option, but i live in a tropical country so the thought having my feet covered by thick fabric all the time in the summer heat is unbearable. so i wear flip-flops instead

Both. Socks are repressive hell but a crumby floor is worse.

Happy medium is carpet indoors, and sandals outdoors. Alas, it is winter and the people around me think LVP was an upgrade from lush carpet 😭

[–] funbreaker@piefed.social 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The former but weather too cold to go barefoot full-time even in the house.

[–] mavu@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I am living the good life because i found the solution: Socks that are not saussage shaped, but shaped like a actual human foot. No more toes getting pulled into an uncomfortable lump. No cold feet either. (this is a winter only problem. why would anyone wear socks in summer?)

you can get them here: plus12socks (not only for children)

socks and shoes at all times, because

floor here: zero second rule.

[–] Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

First one, then the other.

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 3 points 3 weeks ago

Makes sense when you have two feet.

[–] Kattiydid@slrpnk.net 4 points 3 weeks ago

Robot vacuum daily helps lots. Lots of runner rugs that are machine washable helps too, floor bits get wiped off on rugs, floor and rugs get vacuumed daily, rugs get washed monthly, floor gets big vacuum-ed and mopped while rugs wash. Socks still stay on after shoes come off. Never socks without shoes though. No shoes day is no socks day. Also, it doesn't matter if the socks were literally on my feet for 30 seconds, if the socks come off they do not go back on. They are now dirty and go straight in the basket. Same with all clothing really. I have no idea how people wear pants or bras two days in a row let alone the "I never wash this article of clothing ever" crowd. Shudder what the fuck do you mean you don't wash something that you touch?! It's literally there to block dirt and absorb sweat, the fuck Is wrong with you sick fucks?!

Socks half off so it just covers the front half of my foot.

[–] EntirelyUnlovable@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Don't you ever say that again

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

You don't wear socks because you hate the feel of the fabric.

I don't wear socks because I can grip and pick things up with my monkey toes.

We are not the same.

[–] Brosplosion@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

Both and either cause my feet are dead to me and get to live their own lives

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Socks are tryanny for my feet so I guess the first one for me

[–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

The first one. Always sandals and crocks.

The only time I wear socks is when it gets below freezing temps and the cold floor feeling overwelms the foot suffocation feeling.

[–] Pollo_Jack@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Cold feet society check in?

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 3 points 3 weeks ago

I am a hobbit. I would never wear shoes if that was an option.

[–] ashughes@feddit.uk 3 points 3 weeks ago

I flip-flop

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago
[–] Signtist@bookwyr.me 3 points 3 weeks ago

I really don't care, which seems to piss everyone off. If I need to run outside to grab the mail or something, I just do it. It doesn't matter if I'm barefoot in the snow, or wearing socks in the rain, it all warms up and dries out eventually. Shoes are a pain, though, and I only wear them if I'm actually leaving to go somewhere.

[–] ruuster13@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

Shoes and socks if and only if I'm outside for longer than a trip to the mailbox and if my toes so much as notice the corners of the socks, I drop everything and yank them off as quickly as I can untie a double knot, even if that leaves me barefoot in the dirt.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Socks. And if I ever feel a single crumb through them I have to vacuum the entire house.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Socks and shoes unless I am in bed going to sleep.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Eww! Shoes and no socks? Heathen!

I don't like any exposed skin in temperatures below 23 °C.

I'll wear sockless sandals or espadrilles when the temperature is over 28° C.

[–] Redacted@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

One sock on one sock off. I am become ungovernable

[–] Routhinator@startrek.website 2 points 3 weeks ago

Always socks.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

The first one. Socks are porous and will attract and trap the filth against your skin.

[–] OldGrayDog@lemmynsfw.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

Not necessarily socks but something always on my feet except when I sleep.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

No socks at all times.
If I am sleeping and it's cold, blanket covers it all except for the feet.

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I'm a "socks whenever possible because my feet are always cold plus walking in socks makes you quieter" person.
