@rauls5 I count five visible misspellings on that bag.

Or as the Americans would say, of corse. Oh, they don't? Weird.

I've never had a favorite anything in my entire life

TBF "All Dressing" is a common Canadian flavoring that Frito Lay added upon request during one of their promotions where people could write in their favorite flavor.

Pretty cool to see it available again, it was originally a limited time product.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 14 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They added it because Ruffles has always had an “all dressed” flavour in Canada.

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Aren’t they the same company?

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Indeed they are, which is what makes this all the more silly.

But they weren’t always….

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 6 points 10 months ago

What's sillier is the Ruffles variety tastes better, but instead of using the same recipe (or re-releasing them) they tried to reinvent the wheel.

Weirdly, I've always though potato chips are close to locally sourced in every market. Though the company owner is American, 100%

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 43 points 10 months ago (2 children)

It’s pointing out they can’t even spell favourite correctly while trying to appeal to Canada.

[–] Grabthar@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Can't spell flavour either. Words are hard.

Savoury

The whole thing looks bad.

[–] Grabthar@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

True, it's all a bit... unsavoury.

I'm curious where in Canada you are in Canada OP? . I mean frito lay is very much American but I'd wager most of the chips they sell in Canada are made here as well.

[–] KanadrAllegria@lemmy.ca 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

According to another post, OP is in the U.S.

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah i think it's a bit deceptive to post this to !canada@lemmy.ca without any context when this was a photo taken of a bag of chips from a US grocery store.

[–] KanadrAllegria@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago

The whole post is missing context. And every one is seeing something different as the issue! Lol.

[–] tleb@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I live in Alberta and they make a shit tonne down in Taber

[–] Albbi@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

I thought it was Lethbridge. I guess they do it in both places.

[–] Mugmoor@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

They do, and the potatoes are grown here as well.

I'm still trying desperately to find that winning flavor: Bacon Grilled Cheese.

Nobody around here carries it.

[–] jade52@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago (2 children)

The fact that this is not a widely known and popular chip flavor makes no sense.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

It won the flavor contest last Spring.

I've never seen it. Not during the voting session or since. My GF tried ordering twice, once with Walmart & then Amazon.

Walmart sent a "replacement" and Amazon had "no stock".

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

If I saw that as an option, I'd buy it. Just saying.

[–] GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

If you haven't had Old Dutch's Mexican Chili you haven't really lived.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

I'll give it a whirl. Maybe it's easier to find. 🙄

I forget is all dressed a north country thing?

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

Among the other things mentioned, it also looks like an American Nutrition Facts label. More bolded and missing french words like Valeur Quotdien.
