Maybe she needs more dependable income from residuals. I can't excoriate her for that. Not every famous dude's widow is rolling in liquidity. It doesn't make good ragebait click, so sure, assume away. Her side of the story is probably prosaic, no one wants to hear about needing another stent or something.
Yeah, the decision to allow this can be complex. But the system that exists that asks this question is insane and what we should be fighting against.
