A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

how could you even take this seriously enough to be emotionally impacted by it
You're a dude, I take it.
Even if the person that sent the message was 100% serious... Is this any sort of threat to you? The Hallucinations Machine said we should be together and my actual real life situation and choices are less valid than that? The person that sent this message was either being unserious or is so detached from social etiquette they're basically a child.
Being the target of a delusional/ obsessive fixation is terrifying.
If they’re motivated enough to reach out and ask me to remove my pictures, what will they do when I don’t? Will they be motivated enough to show up at my job? Or my house? It sounds silly until they call your mom and ask to speak to you on thanksgiving.
They're exceptionally detached from reality, and the idea that they'd reach out with such a request shows a lack of forethought and self awareness that any sane person would find disturbing.
The fact that you think it's fine is gross, and shows an incredible lack of awareness / emotional maturity - ironically quite childish in it's own way.
I definitely never said it was fine... The sad fact is that anyone with any public-facing job gets hate messages and threats all the time. It's insane, but you have to weigh a message like this against the baseline and make a judgement for yourself. In the majority of cases, blocking this person solves the issue.
The worst thing to do is post about it publicly, because now they know they can contact you. Reach out to people you trust privately, and if you post publicly keep it vague/anonymized.
