Yeah my mom died in my early 20s and she got to see the beginning of my transition, but it's been a real struggle over the years the fact that she didn't get to see me get my shit together, get therapy, get married etc. To know that someone you love didn't get to see who you've become is painful. I know the rest of my family feels similarly.
