Since I didn't find a community for this philosophy yet, I created one. If you are interested, join!

After some thought, the recently created original group https://kbin.earth/m/2010s didn't have "music" in the actual group name, and therefore wasn't super-obviously a music group, so we're relaunching as https://kbin.earth/m/2010smusic

In kbin, you can't just change a community's name, so the mod had to create an entirely new /m or magazine.

I hope y'all will post your favorite music from the previous decade and help us build our community!

[email protected] is under new management. It's got some great posters with an interest in witchcraft, supporting women and feminism.

It's picking up speed with the migration and definitely worth checking out. 🧙‍♀️

What is Elianscript? It's an alternative writing system whose properties combine the linearity of spelling with the free-form nature of drawing.

It's also kind of like a weak cipher, to those not in the know. Similar to a pigpen cipher, but instead of randomly jumbling the letters, we all agree to do it alphabetically. That way everyone IN the know, can read it. It's a lock to keep out honest people.

This is quite niche, and some might say it should be part of a larger cryptography community. But really it's more artistic than that, it's not meant to be jumbled or rearranged to make it more cryptic.

Anywho, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do!

It hasn't been the most active lately but with the recent influx of new users I thought it might be a good time to promote it. I'll try to make an effort to post more but no promises.

Hey all, I've created a comm for my favourite infra automation tool: Ansible.

There's one in l.w. but it's been abandoned for a while now and barely has any traffic, so I felt it's a good time to distribute things a while

EDIT: Ignore the thumbnail. Lemmy is bugging out again with the previews.

Let's compile a list of communities (or magazines etc.) about old stuff. Please suggest further communities in the comments! Other feedback is also appreciated. I can also remove communities if they are not active enough.

https://lemmy.world/c/dndhomebrew

DnDHomebrew is a community dedicated to sharing and giving feedback on homebrew material for DnD 5e (both 2014 and 2024). It doesn’t see regular activity, which is a nice change of pace from the UnearthedArcana subreddit (where low-quality homebrews are posted daily, and that only recently decided to finally ban AI), but it can get a bit monotonous in the long run.
I’ve tried keeping it active over the past few months, but writing quality homebrew takes time, so the are long hiatuses during which the community stays silent. There are other content creators sharing great pieces of homebrew, such as Consort’s playable dragons and magical items. However, I’d love to see more activity from other users as well.

Please join us if you feel like sharing your homebrew rules, classes or whatever, or if you'd like to spice your games with additional options!

I am trying to cultivate a new community: [email protected]. The name is lovingly stolen from a slogan of the 99% Invisible podcast: always read the plaque.

The community highlights informative signage: monuments, memorials, interpretive signs, and simple plaques. Some posts may be historically significant, others may be interesting novelties or touching memorials to good people who have passed. You never know what interesting thing has been left there, right out in the open for all of us to read.
