Felt very rich so I made a single-serving of egg nog with real egg and Amontillado sherry. Also felt not-rich and drinking some boxed wine. I contain multitudes.
Cocktails, the libationary art!
A place for conversation about cocktails, ingredients, home mixology, the bar industry or liquor industry, glassware - this is not an exhaustive list. If you think it's in some way related to cocktails it's probably fine.
If you post something you didn't create give credit whenever possible.
Pictures and recipes are encouraged when posting a drink as a standalone post. Example of an ideal drink post:

We love garnishes.
Remember the code of conduct, keep it nice. In terms of cocktails- specific etiquette that might be different from other communities:
Mentioning your blog, insta, website, book or bar is allowed, yes. For now at least, we do allow self-promotion. If it gets out of hand this might change.
A good post with a drink you don't like is still a good post! Try not to conflate the drink and the post or poster. If someone has a relevant title, gorgeous photo and clearly formatted recipe of what you consider a truly terrible drink, a comment is more appropriate than a downvote.
On that topic: Polite critique/reviews of drinks (or posts, images, etc.) is allowed here. Encouraged , even. It's a good tool for improving your drinks and content. Really, just be nice.
My local supermarket currently offers pretty drinkable and affordable sake. I usually add a bit of sparkling water to it because I'm a heathen.
Paper plane season is nearly upon us!
I've been drinking too much blue state (not a brand just where they're from) whiskey neat. Though I've made several boulevardiers with one of the less approachable bottles I've acquired recently. Made a couple "black" to kill a languishing bottle of amaro (substitute for the vermouth). Added a dash of china china to a couple to add some more excitement (not more than a bar spoon or it becomes too sweet).
Wrapping up the week with an Amaretto/Bourbon sour. Split amaretto between Adriatico and Lazzaroni. Because I had egg whites as I used the yolks in cookies and who can waste eggs now?
A spicy margarita with a supper of pizza. Good combination and a great drink.
Amaretto Bourbon sour
2oz bourbon
1oz amaretto
Juice of one lemon
White of one egg
Dry shake then shake with ice. Strain into glass over one big clear ice, or up in a cold glass.
Happy Easter to any who celebrate. Wrapping up the weekend with a margarita sbagliatto. Made a pitcher of margaritas, but since I already had both a mimosa and a glass of wine with dinner,. I didn't want anything too strong, so margarita plus Cava* plus some mineral sparkling water.
- I cannot recommend strongly enough - the name is silly but Raventos i Blanc Blanc Blanc de Blancs Xaro-lo is so ridiculously good, and not expensive, I have bought this same "champagne" for every party since I discovered it. It's dry but flavorful with a gorgeous fizz from natural fermentation.
Wow. This one will get it's own post eventually when I firm up the measurements, it's fantastic. 2 parts whiskey, one part each lemon & pineapple Amaro, and some Chartreuse, less than an ounce of it.
A lot.
I didn't get a picture but it's good!
2 oz bourbon, one of lime and one of St. Germain, shaken.
I still have tiny bit of st. Germain left. I might try this one this weekend.
