Report it. IDK how terminally online the mods are in this community, but a post in the middle of the night is going to linger a while. Reporting makes it way easier for the mods and reinforces that the community still wants that rule enforced.

No specific piercing. I'm vanilla AF, so any piercing or amount of piercing that I can't help but stare at probably means we aren't a great match.

Actual red flag ... maybe if the piercing has a swastika or other political/religious/other sentiment I find abhorrent.

That's why I said this part

Put your anti-MAGA efforts towards improving your IRL community where you don't have to futilely battle pseudonymous trolls.

Edit: that was a little blunt. To elaborate, I don't engage everyone I see in the grocery store wearing a MAGA hat. I don't knock on the door of everyone flying a Trump flag. I don't engage the white nationalist ass hat spouting off in the bar. We pick our battles based on many factors, including personal safety and well being. Find a way to help that actually does something and makes you feel good about it.

I'm here for entertainment, as I assume most people are. If seeing that sort of rhetoric is a negative to you, block it. Marie Kondo your online life and yeet anything out the window that doesn't spark joy. Put your anti-MAGA efforts towards improving your IRL community where you don't have to futilely battle pseudonymous trolls.

Yeah, HireVue. My company uses them for some job postings at the discretion of the hiring manager.

In general I don't like them. I've seen some job postings that get literally hundreds of applicants though, so I get the company would look for ways to process that many more efficiently. I also think it would be difficult for a hiring manager not to judge an applicant on "video presence", hardly a skill that is top of the priority list for most jobs.

If AI sorting of videos is available I've not seen my company use that feature. To my knowledge, all videos are reviewed by humans. From a previous Lemmy posting about HireVue, I also learned it can be set to only allow one attempt at recording and answering a question, or unlimited.

I kinda think of it as an escalating arms race. Companies put filters in place for resumes. Applicants found tools that aid them in mass applying with a single click. Companies add more filters like HireVue now to deal with the flood of applicants. Applicants are replying by declining or posting to GitHub or whatever.

I wouldn't in the US right now. Look at the SAVE act, which if passed would block a person from voting if their name doesn't match what's on their birth certificate.

Under the current administration, women should seriously think before taking their partners name if getting married. Folks like you, OP, should weigh the trouble of legally changing your name versus just introducing yourself by a nickname.

Sorta. I dreamt I had an imaginary family in which I was the only child. IRL I am one of seven kids, plus some cousins and other kids my parents informally took charge of.

I used to imagine getting new clothes and toys instead of hand me downs, and getting to go to first run movie theaters (too expensive with 7 kids at $10+ per ticket), and eating foods nicer than basic bulk nutrients (Lunchables were the pinnacle of unnecessary expense on food).

Now I am employed and financially self sufficient. I don't think about the imaginary family. I do sometimes have trouble spending money on myself. I recently bought a new jacket for $40, very reasonably priced for what it is and the quality. I had in the back of my head for a good three days after buying it that I didn't really need it and it was a waste of money. Maybe I need the rich imaginary version of myself to tell me to stop feeling like a class-jumping fraud.

I still have never had a Lunchables, but that desire is long gone.

Felt very rich so I made a single-serving of egg nog with real egg and Amontillado sherry. Also felt not-rich and drinking some boxed wine. I contain multitudes.

No interest in it, I have a long list of other projects I would enjoy more.

Wait, blackmailed for dick pics as in "send me dick pics or else", or blackmailed for sending dick pics, "yo, you just send nudes to a minor, give me cash or I'll tell the cops".

Yep, I have one for keeping friends and family updated on my travels without relying on FB/Insta/whatever. If interested, they can subscribe to my RSS feed. If not, I do it for myself and Sarvesh, a random (alleged) Indian man who thinks I am very beautiful and wants to marry me.

Watched my coworker move her cursor to the right edge of her right-hand monitor to get it to over to the left side of her left-hand monitor. When I offered to show her how to adjust her display settings, she said she was used to it and didn't want to change it. I don't think I can walk by her desk while she's working ever again.

What have you got?

I'm using Boost for Lemmy on Android and when others post spoiler tags, I still see the text that should be hidden until tapped. Being able to see through spoiler tags is keeping me from engaging as readily with spoiler-filled communities.

Is there any adjustments I can do to fix it or is it something that can only be done at app or instance or Lemmy as a whole level? TY.

Also New York and Missouri

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/anthem-insurance-cap-anesthesia-coverage-time-limits/6040608/

Anyone with an Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plan will soon have to pay out of pocket for anesthesia if a surgery or procedure goes longer than expected, according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

The health insurance provider said they will no longer pay for anesthesia care if a surgery or procedure goes beyond a specific time limit. This will apply to patients in Connecticut, New York and Missouri.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists said Anthem can pre-determine the time allowed for anesthesia, and if an anesthesiologist submits a bill where the actual time of care is longer than Anthem's limit, the company will deny paying for it.

Inspired by a post since deleted, I feel bad for probably coming off judgemental about the poster's taste in the movie that drove him to consider sailing.

The earliest desired media I can remember that drove me to figure out sailing was DC Talk, a Christian rock band. Pop music was not allowed in my house, so a Christian group was tantalizing and scandalous to a rebellious, young Vanth. Things escalated from there.
