Apple CarPlay / Android Auto interfaces with your phone, it's not a thing that is standalone. GM got rid of it when they realized they can make more peanut butter money by enforcing nav subscriptions and integrated car systems into the head unit so you can't go aftermarket.

They really go the extra mile to ensure their customers’ unhappiness.
GM is fucking stupid for not supporting the major platforms that people choose to use. The phone is probably the most important piece of tech in most people's lives.
Every Chevy I've ever owned has been complete and utter fucking garbage.
