Apple CarPlay / Android Auto interfaces with your phone, it's not a thing that is standalone. GM got rid of it when they realized they can make more peanut butter money by enforcing nav subscriptions and integrated car systems into the head unit so you can't go aftermarket.

I’ll buy a $15 suction mount for my smartphone long before I’ll willingly pay for a car nav subscription.

And do what? UConnect beats the shit out of GM and they still support CarPlay.
