NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is the first Canadian political leader to call for the U.S. president to be uninvited from a major summit of world leaders this summer in Canada.

"Why would we invite someone who threatens our sovereignty and economic well-being? Why would we invite someone who threatens the economic well-being of allies and threatens the world's stability? Why would we allow a convicted criminal into our country?" Singh said in a statement.

Let's go a step further and make the G7 the G6.

The US can have its own G2 with Russia.

That would be more accurately called the L2

I don’t want to be part of that 2 though

Afaik, he can't get into Canada anyway, having been convicted of 34 felonies.

Diplomatic immunity/passport. He can and will attend if not uninvited

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Uh, no. When he was president, Bush junior had to get special permission from the Canadian government to enter Canada, because he'd had a DUI conviction like 30 years earlier. Diplomatic passports / diplomatic immunity have to be granted by the nation being visited.

Yes, and it's almost certainly granted right now unless we put a stop to it.

Nah bro, let him come up... just tell us what his parade route will be and make sure he has a nice fancy open top convertible.

Yes yes, let the JFK flow in you.

Instructions unclear, have been assassinated.

They should meet a day in advance without telling him and come up with a joint strategy. Then, when he arrives, let him have it.

Also, at least once, have a junior staffer tell him that it is “disrespectful to come here and litigate this in front of the Canadian media”.
