I'm not sure how I feel about this: I agree with Donald Trump.

Except I think we may have differing ideas about how the country is about to go "Boom!"

"There’s a lot of support in these communities for getting tough on trade, for cutting government spending, but if tariffs spin out of control, and there’s no results on trade deals, then rural communities are really going to be hit by that.”

There aren't going to be any "results" from "trade deals" that will help rural communities. They're just going to have to suck up what they voted for.

While many of the president’s allies are sympathetic to his argument that the tariffs will encourage companies to invest in domestic manufacturing and production

Uhh, with what money will they invest? They've given most of their money back to investors. Also, you only invest big money in countries where you have faith in their futures. Trump has irrevocably damaged the US' image and relationships. No one is going to trust us any more, and they're right in doing that.

Trump's Jan 6 crimes would be better adjucated in criminal court

As soon as he said that, I knew they'd never hold him accountable. Because I knew they'd immediately move to "Congress didn't convict him so there's nothing to see here", "if we have to go to court, let's bring in every stalling tactic possible" followed by "why are you investigating such an old event". I hate the Republicans.

I'll celebrate (1) once it's come to pass, (b) the Democrats have actually started standing up to ... well, anybody, (c) the resistance has started to have irrevocable wins, and (d) all the people and institutions that have actively enabled this situation are gone.

If "due process" only applies to US citizens, then no one has due process. Because all they have to do is claim you're not a US citizen and then there's no due process by which you can refute their claim.

why was the witness we saw in the video left unharmed?

Two witnesses. There was the lady on the sidewalk, and there was a driver in the car parked at the curb that he walked in front of (you could see the brake lights flash).

Can you actually just pay to spend time on the ISS, with no other qualifications? Because I'm sure not qualified with any skills or abilities.

Does it have to be a country? I want to take Virgin Galactic to space.

If I can't go to space, I'd like to go back to Antarctica.

If it has to be a country, then either Australia or New Zealand, I'm not sure which right now.

It's not just the AI bubble, it's a distinct lack of faith in Huffman and as a CEO. He's not forward-thinking enough, he hasn't understood where the company's value lies, and he's ridiculously distracted by the latest shiny tech things (reddit NFT avatars, reddit crypto, reddit AI).

I fully expect Google to buy reddit at some point, exclusively harvesting all the info for their search engine, all the content for their AI models, and all the submission/view/voting data for their user profiles (what are you interested in, what do you think of these concepts, where are you connecting from, here are more ads we can send you, and these are arguments that might sway you in purchasing or other decisions).

Unsilent Night is happening 6pm Sunday; meet at the Guardhouse at Rittenhouse Square. The music you hear changes on how many people are playing which tracks, where you are in the crowd, and how the environment you're moving through reflects or deadens the sound. It's pretty cool - join us for a (cold) stroll on Sunday evening!

There are five games to play, including a strike-themed take on Wordle.
