Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
Rules
-
π Be Nice!
- Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
-
ποΈ Community Standards
- Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
- Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
- Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
- Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
-
𧬠Keep it Real
- Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
-
π½οΈ Credit Where Credit is Due
- Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
- Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
-
π Post Formatting
- Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
- Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
- When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
β Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
β Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
-
π¬ Post Frequency/SPAM
- Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 π) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 π) will be removed.
-
π΄ββ οΈ Internationalization (i18n)
- Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
SΓ, por favor [Spanish/EspaΓ±ol]
- Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
-
πΏ Moderation
- We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
- When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists
The following artists are banned from the community.
- Jago
- Stonetoss
- GPrime85
It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.
Web Accessibility
Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.
When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:
Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)

As an aromantic, I can 9001% get behind this
Agrees in Vegeta
Question as non-aromantic: is it love as a whole or just romantic type of love?
As a demi-romantic: I have felt love for someone that wasn't romantic nor platonic
Took me a long time tho
I just ate a pizza and now I'm sad because the pizza is gone
Tis better to have eaten pizza and digested, than never to had eaten pizza at all.
What they dont realize is that without love they would loose the ability to love pizza as well meaning that they will loose pizza either way. Super sad
Pizza is also a lot less expensive.
Love is free though. Can't be much cheaper than that.
Once it's established (and proven genuine), sure. All the dates & whatnot until you move in together add up, tho.
Bud, dates and moving in together are not prerequisites for love. I swear, some people got a messed up idea of love.
If you have to wait for love to be "proven" genuine then you got some major issues with relationships.
Love freely and love openly. The rest doesn't matter.
More like experience, but hey - continue guessing my psychological issues. It's entertaining.
What is love? Like, to you
Bitter, jaded people like you are so sad. I hope you find peace eventually.
Yeah, I wish me dead, too. Thx.
2016 /r/incel energy
Lol wild accusation. I never wished you dead mate. You're a random nobody to me. I'd have to actually give a shit first before I wished anyone dead.
There are other forms of love besides the kind you want to put your dick in.
Free once established?
Oh sweet summer child....
Would you say you love pizza?
Gottem'
And I can get a pizza whenever I want
Pizza is love, pizza is life.
I think pizza would taste better when shared with the love of your life!
So you're saying they... Love pizza? Meaning if they gave up love, they'd no longer love pizza either.
With pizza I have both.
I love pizza. π₯°
Nice to see Cathy is still going strong
Every story gets repeated over and over with modern dressing.
It's all just Homer's Odyssey at root.
As someone currently avoiding processed foods, I miss pizza.
I miss my girlfriend too, sure, but I can call her anytime. As to pizza? I don't know when I'll get to indulge in that again.
Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder.
You could make it yourself? It's effectively a flat bread with crushed tomatoes on it.
Depends what your level of processed is I guess.
I can hold the phone next to the pizza if you want to talk to it
"Why do I hear chewing noises? Are you cheating on me?!"
I see the point ...
β¦on every slice
Great happiness and satisfaction, as long as you never ever have a moment of empathy for the vulnerable individuals that suffered pain, terror, atrocity and slaughter. Fortunately, most people don't. Problem solved!
π
There you go! It's ridiculous to consider the suffering we cause vulnerable individuals, isn't it? So ridiculous, we should probably just stop thinking about it entirely.
I hated Pizza Hut pizza and didn't eat it for almost 20 years. My family decided that's what they wanted so I thought at least the stuffed crust could be okay. When I went to eat my first slice I found red cedar mulch under the cheese. I will now go hungry before getting Pizza Hut.
My first time eating in a pizza hut involved a dead fly in my salad. I lose all of my appetite when I see red on a pizza box to this day
What?! Can you explain that?
Sure. It's a shitty company with shitty food. No telling how the kids working there ended up with their landscaping in the pizza.
Dominos thin crust. large with pepperoni and veggies is only 1600 calories. They got a deal (on their website, gotta go to the menu and click it after adding pizza to cart) makes it 9.99. They also let you round up your order to donate to St. Judes Hospital.
I was strict about dieting for a long time, no pizza for years, because I wanted that six pack. I got that six pack. Immediately afterwards, I ate a whole pizza. The flood gates opened. I ended up eating like 6000 calories everyday for 2 weeks. Got sad at my bloated body without a six pack. Got back to my 1200 calorie workout everyday diet. Three days of that, weighed myself, the whole adventure only gained me 5 lbs. Would do again.
