Um, the most important one: πŸ–•

[–] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This, it came in so many variations: three fingers read between the lines, slot machine, jack in the box, slow wind etc

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Slamming your left wrist across the inside of your right elbow while giving the finger with your right hand.

~Always a fan favorite.~

Also

  • the "peekaboo fuck you" one hand covering the other, then moving the first hand for a middle finger reveal,
  • the one above, but you don't move the hand. The middle finger plays shy and peeks over the covering hand.
  • the "pick a finger" while madly wriggling every finger,
  • the "I've got something for you in my pocket" reveal,
  • blowing your thumb to inflate the middle finger,
  • like above, but you make trumpet noises to imitate playing a fanfare for the middle finger.
  • the ordinary extended middle finger, but pronating the hand to insinuate erectile dysfunction in the recipient
  • adjusting your glasses, this worked even better if you didn't wear glasses
  • picking or wiping your nose, or cleaning the outer ear, with the middle finger.
  • pointing out something in a book or other written or graphical material
  • after teaching people to count in binary on their fingers, you could just refer to 4
  • caressing a nipple with the middle finger. This one could be made even more inappropriate if you used an accomplish for the nipple.
  • the ordinary middle finger, but moving it in a "come here" motion. Only do this if you're sure that you're not about to get attacked or can defend yourself.

Tbh I kinda feel like Bubba from Forrest Gump right now, listing all the things you can do with shrimp.

There's also the one where you slowly lift up the middle finger by cranking its invisible handle with your other hand, as if there was a winch

While verbally indicating your offer of a spinning seat. I.e. "Why don't sit on this and spin?"

I grew up in the 90s so we also had β€˜talk to the hand’ and β€˜whatever loser’.

[–] Fredselfish@sh.itjust.works 27 points 2 days ago (3 children)

The using our fingers to create an L and putting above your fourhead to call someone a loser. Also she forgot the all time old school middle finger!

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)

She was looking kinda dumb
With her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an L on her forehead

If you had little hair it was a fivehead.

[–] jim_v@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Loser, loser, double loser, as if, field goal, whatever, get the picture, duhhh!

[–] cantstopthesignal@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Back then people would also simulate having a mental disability using their voice and/or their hand and almost no one was bothered by it.

[–] tquid@sh.itjust.works 39 points 2 days ago (2 children)

When did the "simulated blowjob poking your cheek with your tongue" come out? That was advanced technology

[–] boobookittyfrick@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

How about the one where you made a Spock hand and licked between your fingers

Edit: wait a minute it was a reverse peace sign but Spock hand is funnier I’m keeping it in

[–] TheStaffmaster@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

the "Cranking a box to get the Birdie" was a clever one.

Don't forget to make the tips touch

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

YOU NEVER MAKE THEM TOUCH!

Slow jerk was a speciality. It was difficult to stay hard for that

[–] kazerniel@piefed.world 4 points 2 days ago

this was hilarious 🀣 (never heard about that original jerk-off reaction either, fortunately it wasn't a thing in Hungary)

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 29 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The eye roll has entered the chat...

Also, fingers down the throat and the classic raspberry.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The Gag Me move is 80s. The eye roll is just a basic human characteristic. Cave Teens were rolling their eyes at Cave Moms and Cave Dads. The Raspberry, too. I'm sure fart jokes have always been funny.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

An Austin Powers quote/ impression...

A commercial quote or impressions or tagline..

Some weird turn of phrase that existed in your friend group but no one knew why..

[–] Brickhead92@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I'll also throw in a Simpsons reference for ya

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 5 points 2 days ago

We had so many more. The air quotes was a big one.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Off the top of my head I can think of wanker gesture, two fingers, belm face and jimmy hill/chinny reckon to express doubt (X).

And the French have loads!
