Didn't witcher 3 already get a remaster a few years ago?

Yeah, we had a first remaster but what about second remaster?

in image form
I don't think they know about second remaster.
What about revamped? Enhanced? Definitive Edition? Refreshed? They know about them, don’t they?
reremasterer
Impressive, very nice. Let’s see Paul Allen’s remaster.
Yes, I was a bit underwhelmed. Let's see how this turns out
Prepare to be whelmed
Underwhelmed is an understatement. The remaster traded the beautiful art direction of the original for shitty upscaled textures and ray tracing. I genuinely prefer the look of the original, let alone the much better performance. The original is playable on a potato (it even reaches 60fps on an overclocked Nintendo switch) and still looks great
Not a full remastere, it got a "RTX" upgrade? They added ray tracing and stuff but they kept the same assets otherwise (no new models, textures, etc).
According to this ign article they did also rework the textures and models he first time around: https://www.ign.com/wikis/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/Biggest_Changes_in_the_Next-Gen_Update
I stand corrected!
Absolutely insane how little it takes for people to worship a mega corporation that was caught abusing employees and publicly lying for years just the other day.
I wonder why the video game industry is so bad.
free shit == good
apolitical gamers being apolitical but will cry when they get fired from their jobs because they have no idea what class solidarity is because that is too political
I'll be happy for a free update to a game I already bought long ago. Can't take back the purchase anyway, might as well take the freebie.
My poor old PC and card were already struggling before the remaster. Now it won't be able to play it at all and I can't afford to upgrade cuz every PC part costs a mortgage.
Weren’t the extra graphics from the remaster update an optional setting?
The previous one was, yes, so I'd guess they're going in the same direction here
Just build your own transistors out of mica you sift from your local stream, dude. Seriously. I'm tired of hearing all these complaints about the unavailability of computer parts. Back in my day we used to build our own computers out of whatever scraps we found in the fridge from last night's dinner. Kids these days just need to bootstrap themselves some high-performance GPUs and stop complaining.
(/S, in case it wasn't obvious)
Settings low? Or is that not enough?
I'm sorry for your loss if it isn't.
Feels unfair if you don't want the upgrade. It should be an optional dlc or something.
Is it confirmed to be an update to the existing game or a separate game added to your account?
Rockstar did the same with gta v enhanced edition where it was added to your steam account for free but you can still play the original one as well.
I don't understand the confusion. The remaster IS optional. It's only required if you want to play the new DLC that is releasing
This and the new DLC makes me hope that CP2077 might get a second DLC sometime.
Sames. Phantom Liberty was fucking solid.
Man, it's getting a fucking free expansion with 20-40 hours gameplay... (to connect witcher 3 and 4)
The last two W3 DLCs were extremely good. They’re going to be motivated for this one. I just hope the no delays crowd and the needs to be perfect at launch crowds can work things out.
Spoiler alert: the no delays crowd is wrong.
Cool i bought it years ago and am yet to play.
I never finished the first one and can't bring myself to skip ahead or play the enhanced edition when I know a remaster is around the corner. I have a feeling that once that happens, there's going to be a solid year where it's all I play and just blaze through the entire series.
I never really got in to the game. It was a bit too open and easy to go off the rails and then have trouble getting back to things.
I have the opposite problem lol, I dont like playing geralt i rather play my own character like in skyrim
I never really got into “roll your own character” games. I was never creative enough and would always get stuck on that. Probably why I never got into D&D.
They could let us customize the MCs appearance like in Mass Effect. I just can't get into a story where I'm playing as a symbol of hypermasculinity.
Eh I'm a guy who always play the female characters so that doesn't help either lol
i like to be able to customize my characters some and i really like goolocks in 5e. i am having so much trouble with will's storyline in bg3. i've dipped in act 2 due to hey look a squirrel like 5 times now.
My exact issue with games like this. I either railroad myself to the main story into a series of minimap points and never see the world, or i get so lost in the world i never do the 2nd main story mission and get bored
Should be smacking Nintendo. I would have bought a Switch 2 on day one just to play my Switch 1 games with slightly better performance. Now I'm just skipping the console on principle.
I’d like to smack Bethesda for making zero content mod breaking updates multiple times a year, and Steam too for forcing those updates on a 10+ year old single player game. At this point they have killed the modding scene in favor of paid mods and hyping up their fucking TV show.
SMACK
Wait. Are you telling me switch 2 can play my physical switch 1 games? Thats insane.
I have a good deal for the online expansion through a family plan and I heard they also don't let me use the GameCube emulator on switch 1!
I don’t own one but I think so. The issue the OP here is talking about is they want you to purchase a $10-$20 “upgrade” to take advantage of the better performance of the Switch 2.
Thats incredibly stupid and anti consumer.
Tbf though it looked good enough on release that no one would rebuy it anyway...
If they really want to remaster something it would make more sense to do witcher 1 or 2...
