Who did this?

Fuck the nationalist "we".

[–] CaptainHowdy@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 hours ago

Stupid? Yeah, sure. Plenty of better things to spend money and time on. Still rad AF? Yep.

[–] pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 hours ago

Wonder how my parents will defend this very anti-doge behavior

[–] wieson@feddit.org 10 points 9 hours ago

No panem but circensis that you have to buy tickets for.

When's he going to have the whole building painted gold? I mean, The Gold House would be much classier than The White House.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 9 points 8 hours ago

Just wait until he cheats the 2026 elections, and suddenly his party controls 2/3rds of everything, including the power to do just that.

I hope he never sees this comment.

Some countries have universal healthcare paid by their tax dollars instead of roller rink cheeto's circus.

Some countries have no homeless because their tax dollars help the citizenry instead of lining the orange criminal's pockets.

Some countries feed their children so that no child goes hungry in the midst of plenty.

Some countries don't have a fucking fascist shitbag lying and stealing and grabbing anything not nailed down.

[–] moustachio@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

To be fair, even before the orange shitbag, America didn’t address those things and instead funneled money into a few different shitbag’s & criminal’s pockets.

If anything orange shitbag is a good rep for what the U.S. be like for decades if not centuries.

Stuff being nailed down doesn't seem to stop him now, does it?

[–] KulunkelBoom@lemmus.org 5 points 13 hours ago

Doesn't even slow him down.

OMFG this is real?! I thought the pictures were satire! Satire!!

[–] myrrh@ttrpg.network 9 points 13 hours ago

...the fabric image of an unsullied white house façade hung as a cheap backdrop to the proceedings really is the pièce de résistance...

The guys who created Idiocracy should create a documentary style “prequel” showing how Trump leads us down the path to Idiocracy.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Trump led us here? You should check out the history of USA sometime. Concocted by literal enslavers committing genocide.

“I mean, in a way Idiocracy kind of looks optimistic right now,” Mike Judge tells The Daily Beast by phone from his Los Angeles office.

At least the president in that movie gave a shit about his people.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 11 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Someone else mentioned that he also hired the most qualified person and provided the resources to solve an existential problem.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 6 points 11 hours ago

Yes, we live in a world where dystopian stories from just a few decades ago are looking good.

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Fuck yeah!

At the risk of sounding like Theodor Adorno, I've been saying that a classless society is uncomfortably close to a society without class.

Anyway, did they at least put a shark in that pool they're jumping over? Pulling a Fonz?

The picture of the white house in front of the white house somehow gives me a powerful message: everything in this place is fake, nothing is well thought out.

Like he wanted to have his redneck show in front of the house and then someone told him "uh sir we can't actually see the white house from there, there's all your UFC stuff in front of it". "Oh. Meh, put a picture".

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 7 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

As a hick, please don't call this Redneck it's below even our standards on average and also tends to at least be cheap. Call it classless white trash profligacy.

[–] northernlights@lemmy.today 4 points 15 hours ago

I'll take that :)

We didn't need a sequel to idiocracy.

[–] AlternatePersonMan@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is more of a prequel.

Does this kind of crudity, cage-matches and motorcycle stunts on the closest thing a secular state has to sacred ground, actually work for anyone?

I mean I get it. The US is under the thrall of a cult and an oligarchy, and so this caters to an audience of one. But is there someone else in the US that actually enjoys this?

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

secular state

Secular lol? You're describing civil religion. It's by far the most dominant religion on the planet.
