[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

If you had Tom Cruise's troubles, you might be Tom Cruise crazy too.

[–] lemmy_at_em@lemmy.world 3 points 42 minutes ago (1 children)

You'd flash your big white shiny smile You'd buy expensive shoes

[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 23 minutes ago

But you'd be the only man on Earth, who couldn't enjoy Tom Cruise, oh no You couldn't enjoy Tom Cruise

I mean we all knew he was a psycho. Just like that time he killed Oprah with Force Lightning

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 11 points 6 hours ago

Yet somehow, Oprah returned.

This is one of the Mandela effect things, where the correct title (well, right now, in this universe) is the vampire. Where does this image come from?!

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 3 points 5 hours ago

Even if it's real, it could just be a typo and editorial oversight.

Whenever you see or hear about a Mandela Effect thing like this it’s important to remember that 50% of people are of below average intelligence.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Shit, I remember it being 50% of people are above average intelligence. Guess I got split into the stupid reality :(

He also sucks the life out of nearly every role he's cast in (the one pictured above being a rare exception.) The guy is a walking void of charisma, and I avoid his movies due to the simple fact that they're made worse by his involvement.

Edge of tomorrow - he is fine in that perfect movie
Tropic Thunder - he is hilarious
rain man
the last samurai
minority report
magnolia - perfect fit for the role

[–] leftzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 7 hours ago

He's great in Collateral. He plays great villains.

[–] TheBrideWoreCrimson@sopuli.xyz 7 points 7 hours ago

"Vanilla Sky", and his acting in it, is plain fantastic, I have to hand it to him.

[–] bufalo1973@piefed.social 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

You should read "all you need is kill". Edge of tomorrow butchered the book. The same happens with Minority Report.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago

No one makes Philip K Dick movies that are true to the book, but they often make interesting movies inspired by the book.

[–] ChillCapybara@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 7 hours ago

Reacher - is a big scary man but the movie tries to hide that from you bc Tom is small and it’s funny.

I haven't watched The Mummy reboot but what I have seen of it was atrocious.

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

It gave us this. That's something, at least.

If any Scientology member is in any media, it is on my "do not watch" list. I will never support that cult financially. And by the way, where is Shelley? She was last seen 2007 at her fathers funeral, and the police doesn't do shit.

[–] nickiwest@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

That explains why she's in so many things.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Damnit. I'm surprised I didn't know.

WDYM WTF? I once tried to commit suicide by shooting myself in the chest 3x. I was still alive so I ate some concrete, grabbed a different gun and shot myself in the head.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 46 minutes ago

Maybe your problem is that you're a windmill. we're going to try burning you down, knocking you over and throwing you into a swamp.

[–] FreshLight@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 hours ago

Glad you survived that.

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 9 hours ago

Yeah this is like the old joke where a black dude was found in a ditch with 17 stabs in the back, and police determined it was a suicide

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 15 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I believe she is the wife of the current leader of the church.

[–] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 14 points 11 hours ago

Oh, yeah, she'sdead

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

That was Tom Cruise? Really ruins the movie for me, thanks.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 41 minutes ago

I saw one of the mission impossible movies on an airplane because I don't know before I realized it had Tom Cruise and I think a lot of the appeal of those movies is watching Tom Cruise('s stunt double) get hurt, but I can suspend disbelief for long enough to watch the stunt dude get hurt and then go watch something else. Stunt dude did all right.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago

guess xenu does that to folks
