Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Not anywhere near the worst police training, I'm sure.

[–] obre@slrpnk.net 29 points 1 week ago

Honestly that was my first thought too, although it's awful that that's where our expectations are at, any hour they're spending watching that is an hour not spent listening to killology psychopaths.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It’s a very, "idgaf, watch this movie" kind of educating.

[–] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I whish I could get to spent watch a movie during work hours 😔

[–] P1nkman@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

I did that as a security guard for two months (we were allowed to). After a month, it gets really fucking boring. This was back in 2007, so no internet access on the computer.

Isn't that where Paul Paulos of St Paul paulice is?

The famously Paulest of all the Pauls?

[–] SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de 23 points 1 week ago

That's apauling

[–] rockerface@lemmy.cafe 9 points 1 week ago

There were no Pauls left in the entire city after he was born. He took all of them.

[–] Whimsical418@aussie.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

More Paul than a mall cop?

More Paul than a ST Paul Mall Police called Paul.

[–] _chris@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Ten year old article.

Three years before Chauvin murdered Floyd.

They definitely learned a lot from the film.

Solid fucking gold man.

[–] A404@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I dont get it. Can someone explain me the joke? 😕

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Joke is the rabbit kinda hot. Shouldn't be though because she cop.

[–] harambe69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I know I know, she cop...

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 1 points 1 week ago

Saying that the cops were given anti-bias training is hustling the general public.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

Floyd was murdered by the Minneapolis Police. St Paul Police appear to be more chill.

Edit: Not "chill" chill, but rather "less murderous chill".

Edit 2: Yes, I fucked up who is who between Floyd and Chauvin. Why? Fuck if I know.

[–] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nobody murdered Chauvin. He was thrown in jail. He may be murdered in jail but it hasn't happened yet.

[–] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Floyd. Chauvin was the murderer.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 1 points 6 days ago

You are correct. I have edited.

[–] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago

Imagine if they hadn't seen zootopia. How bad would it have been?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 25 points 1 week ago

It's a movie about how the government created the crack epidemic to demonize minorities so yeah they should watch it.

[–] TowardsTheFuture@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Listen furries are people too.

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 2 points 1 week ago

This statement made several of them quite mad.

[–] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 15 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Did they license it properly? That’s a public viewing.

My standards for cops are so low that’s my first thought.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I don’t think police training is open to the public.

If that station bought it legit, they can show it to anyone who works there.

[–] Beacon@fedia.io 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Incorrect i believe.

Quote:

A movie night at a community center, a screening in a company break room, ... all qualify as public performances even if only a handful of people show up.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago

The link you provided specifically calls out classroom instruction as an exception.

Also, IIRC, the whole thing is moot once your screening becomes invite only as that would be considered a private venue.

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago

None of this applies to pirated media of course, because I downloaded it and made it mine

[–] protogen420@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

if I bought the dvd, I can't put a tv on my lawn (if I was american and lived in a suburb) and play it there for anyone to watch?

am I reading this right?

[–] possumparty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

as long as you're not charging money, then yes. that is my understanding

[–] protogen420@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

who the fuck wrote this laws

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 1 points 1 week ago

I think it can get a little weird. A local cafeteria was going to play a movie during the dinner, and somehow advertising the fact (as an event, I guess) pushed it across into potentially breaking the law.

“Alright, and who wanted to sleep with the fox? ~Diez~ ~write~ ~down~ ~everyone~ ~who~ ~raised~ ~their~ ~hand…~”

“Sir, why?”

“1 on 1 training.”

[–] NannerBanner@literature.cafe 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fox? There's a whole slew of potentials in that movie! The lemmings alone should make everyone in this form social media start ticking.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

But you can only afford so many fursuits. Gotta find your audience

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago

We’ve done it, state violence is solved.

Welcome to Costco. I love you!

[–] marzhall@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

So they learned to:

  • as quickly as possible, associate with the local mafia
  • use that mafia to threaten suspects with their lives to progress the case
  • respect other species

Alright, good start
