Edit: I ended up going the 5-panel, flat brim hat long ago due to ultimate.
Nearly 50 and don't have a single hat that dominates. I have around 15 that I wear at various times. But most often don't wear one at all. I went through my hat phase in elementary and jr high.
Mine is a Boonie hat in digicam that I made myself from scratch

As long as it’s not the maga hat we good fam.
As a 49ers fan I carry a little extra hate for them choosing a red hat to signify their shittiness.
Same as a Chicago Bulls fan.

I had a period in my early 20s when I wore one if these:
I had no thought behind it, just liked it, but many thought it was to look older. Haven't really worn a hat since then, only a beanie during winter but not at all in a "define my personality" way. Guess I gotta go and find something, definitely some hippie thing!

I've got a beaver-skin U.S. Forest Service Stetson. It doesn't even fit, but it's so badass I can't part with it.

How close is it? You can take it into a hat store with a steamer and have them resize it.
Good idea, I may just try someday, when I pull it out of storage.

My hat has a little version of itself for a logo
The backwards hat maneuver fell out of style a while ago. You now see it mostly on people in their 40s rather than anyone younger
...i wear my driving cap backwards so i can see the open sky in my field of view, otherwise it defeats tne entire purpose of dropping the roof...plus, i suppose it's also less-likely to blow off without a brim up front to catch the wind when i look upward...

The wind easily blew my hat off the other day…that’s when I realized I bought it more than 15 years ago and it’s probably time to update old faithful.
