I've got a beaver-skin U.S. Forest Service Stetson. It doesn't even fit, but it's so badass I can't part with it.

How close is it? You can take it into a hat store with a steamer and have them resize it.
And being the southwest wearing a hat outside isn't really a choice, unless you like a sunburned scalp.
