Attacking an institute of science. This administration could not have orchestrated a better representation of itself.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 96 points 5 days ago

They could have attacked a school full of children...oh wait.

[–] Not_mikey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 5 days ago

Iran is just the testing ground, they're doing over there what they want to do here but can't... Yet

I agree with the post

I condemn america's actions in middle east

This isn't a meme

Its connection to science is held by a thin thread

And you are supose to be a moderator?

[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

Sadly, there are no rules against politics here, nor are there any rules requiring science content.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 5 points 4 days ago

it is an attack on science. Organizational/Societal behaviour is arguably a science as well.

Killing the pope out of cruelty would increase church attendance, too. It's rocket appliances, Mr. Leahy.

It's not like there was already a glaring example of an aggressor attacking another country's civilian infrastructure in an attempt to inflict terror. And also failing miserably at it.

[–] Ooops@feddit.org 36 points 5 days ago (2 children)

One recent... many, many more throughout history. Terror against the population does not work, never did and never will.

[–] chickenf622@sh.itjust.works 9 points 5 days ago

But it'll work this time I swear /s

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I dunno ... Rome fucked up Carthage pretty bad.

[–] Tiresia@slrpnk.net 1 points 4 days ago

That wasn't terror, that was genocide, which unfortunately can work. See also the USA genocide of native Americans.

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 9 points 5 days ago

Bibi needs the war to last at least until October.

already a glaring example

Only those meaningless sideshows known as "WWI" and "WWII".

[–] webkitten@piefed.social 45 points 5 days ago (1 children)

All so Trump can wag his shriveled mushroom dick around. May he hang in the Hague forever.

[–] DandomRude@piefed.social 35 points 5 days ago (2 children)

The US has never recognized the ICC - for precisely this reason: anyone who commits war crimes themselves naturally does not want to be prosecuted for them.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 6 points 4 days ago

Neither did Israel. Like peas in a pod.

[–] webkitten@piefed.social 1 points 4 days ago

Oh to be fair, why waste time with the ICC when St. Lambert's Church showed us what we can do with Trump.

Classic Isreal. I see bombed university and assume they were enthusiastically involved.

If you think science is apolitical, you need to read more.

Or, at the very least, pull your head out of the ground and just have a look around. Holy shit

[–] jol@discuss.tchncs.de 25 points 4 days ago

This post is definitely not science memes though.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 14 points 4 days ago

Yeah but I was just hoping to see funny things here. This is just depressing.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world -2 points 4 days ago

This isn't a science meme lmfao. Do random Back to the Future memes fit here too, just because scientist mentioned?

The Epstein class must fall.

"There is no war in Ba Sing Se."

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What level of anti-intellectualism is this??

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

American-grade

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 3 points 4 days ago

Yet more legitimate targets i see.

[–] Bazell@lemmy.zip 3 points 4 days ago

This is what to be ignorant looks like. If you don't study your enemy properly, effectiveness of your actions lays in hands of luck.

[–] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 4 points 5 days ago

He regularly fires experts that say stuff he doesn't like.

[–] notsure@fedia.io 4 points 5 days ago

Those people's ideas are not like mine. Kill the teachers.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

It's not entirely 'ignoring experts'.
That is partly used as a stick of one side of the Uniparty to beat the other side.
And partly as cope for many americans of both sides who want to keep the illusion of their invincible military and that their failure wouldn't happen under another president.
This is untrue since their 'experts' under any president have followed the completely debunked doctrine of Giulio Douhet.
They have more military problems mostly that they have not kept up with modern warfare evolution.
