Firstly i admit i am clueless in plants so treat this 45 years old man like a kid when you explain stuff,

I get this last year she was getting bigger rapidly but was nice for the past 8 months. suddenly this middle big stem came from ground and started dying, yellow to brown leafs, i cut the first top part, then the lower leaves started turning brown and dead so my dad cut it like this.

I water it every two to three weeks with cup of human drinking water, or by touching the soil to see if its dry then i water it.

I've been throwing my boogers into a plant pot and the plan is thriving. It even bloomed. Do you have any experience with boogers as fertilizer or is this maybe just coincidence?

the left branch is completely new and the right branch still has two brown flowers leafs with some kind of berries and seed.

Also, does anybody know the name of this plant?

I'm quite proud of this one. I usually only buy discounted plants - because if / when I kill them, I don't feel that guilty.

When I got it, it was a mess: had a baby offshoot and was rotting from one arm/leaf. I was afraid cutting it - it took me two cuts til it dried out and started it's recovery.
Now my problem is to try to keep it's arms straight - haven't found a solution yet.

I've propagated a dozen different plants but this one just won't happen for me. I'm using all the methods I've had success with elsewhere and always end with a dead vine.

I've tried right into soil, right into water. Letting a cutting dry overnight. Dabbing rooting hormones on it. Sharing a cup with other rooting plants. Nothing!

So if you've had success, what did you do? Did you find it any harder to propagate than others?

I just repoted my two biggest plants, a Yucca and a Ruscus, with the sustrate blend this community recommended last time. I think they look really good, definitely better than before.

I've seen my suspicions were correct sadly, the dirt was so compacted it had started to compact and kill off some roots. Thankfully none of these two had extensive damage. Also! The Yucca had grown so quickly it wasn't developed enough to hold its own weight, so I straightened it with a makeshift splint and it looks healthier now, I'll leave it a couple months and see how it goes.

Hello, I just got to this community! I've taken care of plants for only a year or so.

I was wondering if you guys could recommend some good sources to learn about how to take care of plants and learn about them, what they need, how to know, etc.

Also, I've been noticing some of my plants are holding more water than before. I bought some univeral substrate when I bought them, and I think that with time it has compacted into itself, preventing good drainage. Do you have any recommendations? I was going to transplant some of them, so I thought I'd take advantage and try to fix the issue.

I work in a windowless office. My wife got me a plant to spruce up the place, it's supposed to be watered once a fortnight and need very little light.

It sat in the dark in the weekend and when I got it it had these water drops on many of its leaves. What's up?

This is the third time she's bloomed for me.

Agave eggersiana growing outside in Missouri, USA. When night time temps are below 60f/15c I take it inside. Last year while outside it turned this light green that I don't think seems very healthy and I was hoping it'd improve this summer but it hasn't. Maybe I need to add nitrogen to the soil? Pot drains well.

I think it is a Faucaria of some kind. It was labeled "mimicry" which I now understand to describe many types of succulents but didn't have any reception at the nursery to see if it was a helpful common name. I broke my self imposed no-buy for this little friend because it is so unlike anything else in my collection.

I can't keep lithops alive, but I've done well with Fenestraria, so let's hope I can figure this one out lol.

So this guy was super etoliated and yellowing, and just not looking great. I chopped the top and tore off a bunch of lower leaves about a month or two ago. It's been living under brighter grow lights since and now I think it looks really neat!

I'm not sure how exactly they multiply. Is it possible? I'm a big fan of how the mama looks so it'd be great to get another.

They aren't moving and don't seem to be attached, as the come off easily when I wipe the leaves with a tissue. They are on two plants that were right next to each other but not the basil that was also next to one of them

It also smells intensely floral, spicy warm. Like apple, vanilla and fabric softener. Especially in the morning.

There's also another flower spike forming.

It's a NOID, I'm not sure if it's a hybrid or really the right thing.

I live in the PNW near Seattle, but because it is summertime, nighttime temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees celsius and daytime temperatures are around 27.

It started looking like this several months ago when it prepared to flower and it was still indoors for the winter. I put it outside and the condition kept deteriorating. The fruit also seems to not be getting any bigger.

About nine months ago when I planted it I filled the pot with potting soil and about two months ago my mum covered it with sand to keep water in or something. She raises a lot of houseplants so I assumed she was experienced on this matter.

I water it about every three days with about 250 ml water and a few drops of MiracleGro (it also occasionally rains). I read that to help iron deficiencies people put rusty nails into the soil so I stuck some old screws into the soil.

Is it the sand? I have a sneaking suspicion it is the sand.

Hey there. I grew some Stephania and want to give one to my friend but where she wants to put it will require some supplemental lighting.

There's nothing above it so undershelf lights won't work. She understandably doesn't want a floor stand or clip-on light in her foyer, either.

So I'm looking for something like the photo....minus the "smart" app stuff. There's a lot of crap brands on Amazon and I only really know of Barrina and SANSI whose options aren't great for this.

Any suggestions?

Sadly a NOID, probably Oncidium altissimum. Smells wonderfully!

The big leaves behind are from a bird of paradise (Strelitzia regia) plant in case you wondered.

Another oncidium type orchid is also starting to bloom too, more pics will follow :)

I picked one of these up over the weekend. Pretty cool watching it rehydrate!

So I found this cactus a few years ago abandoned in the woods (Central Europe) and I’ve wondered since who he is, especially because he lowered his arms some month ago and build roots so I put another pot underneath it…
