I think for me that might be Unleash the Archers. I ended up looking through their discography and while their earlier stuff was a tad rough, everything from the album "Apex" onward is great. The quintessential UtA single for me is Awakening.
My roommate said he was trying to find bands that reminded him of Gojira and found them YouTube. For me the one song that reminds me of them is "Tonight we ride" from the intro to everything after it's just my favorite.
I got really into Flopsy's Dream and their debut album Pleasant Pudding last summer.
It's the secondary project of Tom Davies, a Geoguessr YouTuber I've been following for years. Soft, laid-back rock that hit the spot just right for me.
Oh God so many
Lebrock
Fm84
Przm
Dylan Gossett
Ryan Birmingham
Billy strings
So many more but these are what comes immediately to mind.
Electric Callboy!!
They’re a German electronicore band who fuses metal, EDM and techno and they’re pretty fun/funny
Wooze. Put their entire discography on a playlist, hit shuffle. You're welcome.
Battle Tapes. Their latest album is a few years old, but it's solid all the way through. Their entire discography is also worth it, though.
They are Gutting a Body of Water
Men I Trust
Haywire. Musically they might not hit me as deep and profound as say, Bad Religion. But for live show intensity… Fuck, it’s like the 90s again. A sweaty crush of humanity getting their eardrums blown while someone back-flipping off the balcony knocks their teeth out. Fun for all ages!
Castle Rat: Medieval Fantasy Heavy Metal. I would say more Rock than metal, and kind of an 80s feel.
They are incredible. Great music, fun lyrics, presence and themes to their shows.
Also shout out to MIRE and their new album. Heavy metal.
Castle Rat are mostly heavy/doom with lots of emulation of Black Sabbath. For some reason several such woman-fronted bands cropped up in recent-ish years, namely also Druidess and Hail Darkness
A friend told me about Bad Omens (metal) and I’ve been listening to them. I don’t usually like heavy music these days, but sometimes it can be cool and they have some clever lyrics.
Kyuss
Ladrones
I don't know Spanish.
Fluisteraars and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (specifically the microtonal albums).
Ghost. Square Hammer is the song that initially melted my face off.
Edit: Almost forgot, I think I got into Dirt Poor Robins even more recently. I just love their sound, it's like nothing I've heard before. A lot of their songs possess religious undertones, but not obnoxiously so. Some faves:
You found a fantastic band to get into! My wife and I are bummed Ghost's current tour is done, we went to four of them because the production value of their latest tour was so damn good.
I started listening to Ghost a few years ago after listening to Square Hammer. They are so good I have no idea how I got through my life without hearing them earlier. Love their costumes as well.
I got super into "Square Hammer" last Halloween!

Congrats on finding the best band ever 🤘
Do this song next
More artists than bands, but:
Lubalin and Su Lee
A timely question! I've been listening to Neutral Milk Hotel a lot recently, and for the first time. I'd heard of the band back in the day, but somehow never listened. The Wikipedia entry lists a number of my favorite bands as influenced by them, so I guess it's no surprise that I enjoy it so much.
I can’t stop listening to these two freaks from Belgium called La Jungle.
Super high intensity fun fast jams
I don’t understand why they aren’t huge
Apes of the State, which is now sending me on a folk punk deep dive
Vendredi sur Mer (Switzerland) - catchy, original electropop with a lot of lullaby-ish spoken word. Much of Charline's early work was co-written by wunderkind Lewis Ofman.
I need to check out if Ashnikko has anything other than Worms that is good. I found the song looking for songs specifically about BPD and the list I was using said most of her discography is about it.
I just found out about fleshgod apocalypse, they're fantastic. If symphonic death metal speaks to you it's worth checking them out!
A few choices:
symphonic death metal
Might also want to check out the classics, Therion's ‘Symphony Masses: Ho Drakon Ho Megas’ and ‘Lepaca Kliffoth’. They aren't very symphonic, but are the points where Therion were moving from death-doom to their proper developed sound.
Checking them out now via their most popular videos on yt. I'm digging "Epilogue!"
Kaleo - rock and roll from Iceland
Amigo the Devil - found on a murderfolk playlist
Parov Stellar - techno-swing
Bridge City Sinners - murderfolk
Mariache el Bronx - mariache cover band
Plastic Bertrand - French surf rock (?)
If you like Amigo the Devil and don't know them already, check out Harley Poe. Murderfolk/Horrorfolk
Will do, thanks!
Definitely Kalandra
Don't even know the genre (always a good sign in my book)...folky proggy post rock?
Bloodywood - A Bollywood themed metal band. Great fun!
The last one is Lord of the Lost. Scratched the itch of getting a metal band that I don't have to worry about being a nazi cult in the future.
Damn, these songs are good on their own, he's got a nice rich voice. But then oh my fuck, also the costume work is hella good.
