Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Powerful men have decided he wasn't doing things for powerful men. Nothing to see here folks, everyone should just go home.

[–] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 38 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

He was just running it for himself, and powerful men happened to benefit and use it. But it was FOR himself. Problem solved right? Great job FBI!

The billionaires just fell into Jeffrey's consenting adult time machine, and they tripped over the levers on the way in, it was an accident all along

Nothing inspires trust like fbi boss crazyeyes. Once he got done with raiding fulton county election offices on completely not false election rigging allegations at the behest of the person that was not himself the one trying to rig it. Trust.

[–] WolfmanEightySix@piefed.social 136 points 5 days ago (4 children)

So who was he running a sex trafficking ring for?

[–] socsa@piefed.social 50 points 5 days ago

Apparently just Donald Trump.

It's America with three K for the American one. What's the trick for that one?

Other than the overwhelming preponderance of evidence, there's little reason to suspect him.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 56 points 5 days ago

Case closed, finally. Seems like a legit apolitical finding. /s

FBI continually doing more than any foreign power to undermine the credibility of the FBI.

[–] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 days ago

Just a normal US thing. Nothing to see here.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 40 points 5 days ago (1 children)

That’s because technically there were powerful women involved too.

Other than all of the obvious horrible takeaways from the Epstein files, it's really incredible to see how overwhelmingly stupid all of these powerful rich shits are. This dude's out here acting all philosophical about trans people while fundamentally misunderstanding multiple aspects of how hormones actually affect people. Also, there is plenty of trans men porn, you just aren't seeing it because you have a fetish for trans women, not because it doesn't exist. Idiot freaks.

His and my mutual contact is a manosphere anti woman victim

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

If I didn't know the source I would think this was taken from some seedy porn forum.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 14 points 5 days ago

This is the shit you would read on /b/ at 2am on a Thursday in 2007 while two users have what they think is a "deep" conversation in the middle of one-handed browsing.

Fuck the FBI

"We have investigated ourselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing"

[–] RoidingOldMan@lemmy.world 26 points 5 days ago (2 children)

So if Epstein hadn't killed himself, would they have even had enough evidence to convict Epstein himself?

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

He would probably be living with his pedo-pal Ghislaine in the cozy prison she's in.

i pretty sure kash patel cant look straight ahead since the evidence is in front of him, just look at his eyes.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 7 points 4 days ago

That dude is so walleyed that when he cries it runs down his back.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 13 points 4 days ago

Strictly speaking he was running a blackmail ring to gather Kompromat

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 11 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Also, mid 2019, colourised:

[–] hector@lemmy.today 13 points 5 days ago

Right, good one guys! I had to double check this wasn't the onion. It's stuff like this that makes satire hard to sell nowadays.

Nothing inspires faith like the conspiracy podcaster crazy eyes fbi boss. Totally legit conclusion they came to right after they raided the election office in Fulton County Georgia to rehash the president's conspiracy theories about the 2020 election that he failed at stealing.

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 7 points 4 days ago

So they’re shitty at investigations, but we already knew that.

[–] ThanksObama@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago
[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 days ago

Why is it that all the referenced interviews and investigations occurred in 2019 or 2025 but nowhere in between?

[–] Strider@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Ah well, then it's okay he was running a sex trafficking ring.....?

[–] RaskolnikovsAxe@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

Federal Bureau of Ingratiation

These people have no choice now, they'll do anything to protect him because they know it's all over when he goes down.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Does this just mean that he wasn't doing it on behalf of anyone? But everything else is still the same?

He it was still sex trafficking and powerful men bought them. But Epstein didn't have a boss or anything?
