Poilievre said Kirk was killed "because he expressed a contrary point of view."

Kirk’s last words and thoughts were not exactly racist but damn near close to it, mass shootings or gang violence. His second last thoughts where Transphobic “there are two many mass shootings by Trans people to count in his country.” Yes I did use two properly there, there have been two mass shootings down by Trans people in the US.

I seem to recall him being fine with it when Trudeau was getting rocks thrown at him. I seem to recall him saying it was an overreaction when Freeland complained she was being followed around.

Am I remembering wrong?

[–] npcknapsack@lemmy.ca 45 points 2 months ago (1 children)

(I don't want any of our politicians to feel worried about political violence, but I also don't remember his open condemnation of any of it when Singh was threatened.)

[–] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 months ago

Safety for me and not for thee. Fits the Conservative brand well.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 29 points 2 months ago

I remember when Diagolon assholes threatened to rape his wife because she was an immigrant.

[–] SamuelRJankis@sh.itjust.works 24 points 2 months ago

You forgot we're like 5 years into political effigys and I'm completely sincere in saying I've never seen a single Conservative (that includes American side) as a target for those.

Stringing up Trudeau pinata by its neck was 'just in fun,' says Alberta bar owner

I seem to recall him meeting with convoy leaders during that whole shitstorm. Way to “de-escalate”.

[–] Prezhotnuts@lemmy.ca 61 points 2 months ago

Worried that the flames he helped to stoke might come back on him.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 57 points 2 months ago (1 children)

So you're going to tone down the hateful rhetoric and try to depolarize the situation? Right? Right?

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 months ago (2 children)

"Depolarize the Situation" is a three word slogan, but too many syllables to be adopted by Poilievre.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Drop the drama, calm the clash, ease the beef.

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 months ago

Now we're talkin'.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 months ago

Gotta rhyme. How about "Degauss the house"

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 45 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Stop fucking around today and you’re much less likely to find out tomorrow.

"What do you mean, actions have consequences?!"

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 30 points 2 months ago

Spread hate, you attract hate.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 29 points 2 months ago

You tellin me the man that threw his own MP under the bus and wasted 2M taxpayer dollars to avoid getting a real job is more worried about himself than his fellow Canadians??? Colour me shocked.

The same Pierre Poilievre who was just glad-handing with Rob Primo? The same Rob Primo who's been hanging out with Jeremy MacKenzie? The same Jeremy MacKenzie who publicly threatened to rape Anaida Poilievre? That Pierre Poilievre?

[–] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 28 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Stop fanning the flames of violence if you can't take the heat. Fuck tard 🙄

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago

That's actually the strategy: enrage people, then complain about violence. Harass opposing voices but complain about the attack on free speech you're the victim of, of course.

Get a flame-thrower and vow to use it to prevent and fight fires. Fires start here and there. You see? I was right to get the flame-thrower! Don't let THEM take it away from me!!

[–] Montreal_Metro@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Any trucks with “Fuck Poillievre!” stickers?

[–] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 months ago

No because the left is actually populated by people with empathy and disdain for violence, despite what PP likes to espouse in public.

Creepy little pp needs to recede into the hedge like Homer and never come back out again.

The hedge being the US. May he find peace and security there. From whatever he imagines going down here.

Where is this "rising tide of violence" that he's so afraid of? In Canada? Since when? This fuckin' idiot doesn't even know what country he's in.

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 months ago

Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

Don't worry, you need to be relevant to be a target.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

Contrary POV?? Fuck Kirk, Fuck PP. His wife isn’t elected but since she inserts herself into public life and on her IG before the election she had a post that said she was gonna be ‘Canada’s first lady’ 🤢🤢🤢Fuck her too. This is Kirk’s hateful screed, which PP condones:

Is he worried some nut-job is going to think he's not right-wing enough?

[–] orioler25@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago

Yes. This is terrifying to fascists because most of them don't think enough to consider how ideological purity would manifest in a rabidly genocidal ideology and the wealthier ones think they can insulate themselves from the violence. Charlie getting easily killed publicly by one of their own is the exact thing they thought they were safe from.

PP is a neolib who played with nazism for fun and genuinely thought there couldn't be consequences for it.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Probably. That’s essentially why Kirk was targeted. By some eternally online white male MAGA freak who thought Kirk was not rightwing enough. How much violence is committed by straight white men Chaz? Cat got your tongue?

[–] brax@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago

Sounds like he's enjoying the consequences of his actions

[–] GrindingGears@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 months ago

Nobody is going to shoot you PP, you aren't that important. Nobody cares about a loser, nor someone that needs to run multiple times in multiple campaigns before getting a seat where you are still somehow the loser. If someone is going to plan an assassination and give up their life for it in one way or another, it's probably going to be for someone or something far more important than you and your memes or one liners.

People are speaking out about how it's sick that there's any critical thinking or negative feelings against this fellow in the US that got shot, when what's actually even sicker is people then trying to ride the coatails of such an event to bring more attention upon themselves.

"How can I make this all about me so that my name stays in the news?"

[–] psvrh@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago

Isn't this the same spineless snotbag who was palling around the Diagolon members after the group threatened to rape his wife?

Fuck, what a disingenuous piece of shit he is.

[–] nik282000@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

Good. Being the head of a plague should not be comfortable.

[–] threeonefour@piefed.ca 9 points 2 months ago

Axe the Violence!

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Has he tried not being a cunt?

[–] orioler25@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago (2 children)

His last two statements were transhpbobic and racist. "Gang violence" means racialized violence, it's imagined as a form of violence exclusive to undesirable non-white groups.

PP deserves to feel scared for the very same reason. Bolt-action rifles are legal in Canada and he's made is career about targeting vulnerable groups and pandering to chuds. Now he knows that the chuds could just kill him because of memes and everyone loved seeing that Nazi eat it.

So, PP, how’s that security clearance going? What are you hiding??

[–] isVeryLoud@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago

His last words were a racist dog whistle, which equates "gang violence" to "black people".

[–] SereneSadie@lemmy.myserv.one 8 points 2 months ago

Which is why I make clear that the current guy, dogshit pathetic as he absolutely is, was at least a slightly less shit option.
