"Most easily identifiable man in country unable to be identified by AI"

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 56 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Given the police are using AI to identify protestors.....this gives me an idea.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 18 points 3 months ago

We all need to do special effects make-up, masks and disguising.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago

What's your idea? Wearing a mask?

[–] jcs@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

GuyFawkes entered the chat

[–] berber@feddit.org 112 points 3 months ago (4 children)

how is this funny? it just shows how stupid these things are.

[–] lemjukes@sopuli.xyz 65 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Revealing something meant to be serious, as also being ridiculous is like one of the main answers to the question of how comedy works...

[–] Lyra_Lycan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 3 months ago

Satire. If you're going to burn, you may as well make jokes about charred flesh

[–] Hellinabucket@lemmy.world 26 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Right? It's only funny if he voted for the people who put this policy in place.

[–] nogooduser@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Right? It's only funny if he voted for the people who put this policy in place.

There wasn’t really a viable alternative. The Conservatives were also intending to put something like this in place.

[–] Rawrosaurus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 months ago

Wasn't it the tories who passed this act and then labor who just pushed ahead hard with it when they got voted in?

[–] M137@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It's funny BECAUSE it shows how stupid they are... this is almost toddler-level comedy basics. It's stupid, disturbing and fucked up, but also funny. Funny doesn't mean it can't be anything else, it's not an exclusive thing. Many things that are bad, wrong, disturbing etc. are also funny.

Sarcasm is a form of comedy

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 months ago

I hope this email reaches you.

[–] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 55 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If you're even trying to verify yourself with this bullshit then you're already losing.

[–] tomcatt360@lemmy.zip 17 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Sometimes you have to in order to do your job. Let's say you are a researcher, and the information you need to access is footage on YouTube which has been age restricted.

[–] SapphironZA@sh.itjust.works 52 points 3 months ago (2 children)

He should get a mask with a normal face on it.

[–] RvTV95XBeo@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[–] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago

And a nice bottle of Chianti!

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

A fuckload of concealer

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 51 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'd imagine anyone who's survived a fire or acid attack is also getting fucked by this

[–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I can't take AI proctored exams because I have a lazy eye and it tracks whether or not you're looking at the screen. It's the main thing keeping me from getting a bachelor's because most associates to bachelor's RN programs are entirely online.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Thats absurd, you can't raise hell and get some sort of exception? I'd be angry.

[–] Apytele@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

Haven't figured out the best plan. After a quick therapy sesh with the hobos at the bus stop I'm thinking I'm just gonna study the subject matter and see if I can test out of the relevant courses at a testing center (instead of a course with multiple smaller tests).

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

That's an easy fix:
easy fix

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 22 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

I'm imagining him applying pancake makeup before he logs on for a gooning session.

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 months ago

2025 has some ridiculous one-liners unmatched by history.

[–] katja@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 3 months ago

Maybe if he wore a mask, it would work?

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Get a silicon mask then?

[–] TacoButtPlug@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Britain has a face check? For what?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@piefed.world 41 points 3 months ago (3 children)

The new Online Safety Act over there. They make you scan your face and follow instructions (step forward, turn left, open your mouth, etc.) to access a lot of websites now. It's creepy, and something similar seems to be being pushed in every western country simultaneously now.

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 months ago

They've the same for banks now here. Very creepy.

[–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 5 points 3 months ago

Just to be clear the law doesn't say you have to scan your face. That's just one option to verify a persons age and websites (and users) are choosing that method. I believe other options are to use a credit card or maybe show some kind of government ID. It's all fucked but the government aren't making people scan their faces, that's just one viable method.

[–] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 30 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The stated reason is to protect children from porn and such. The real reason maybe (as it often is whenever they say it is about protecting children) an excuse to extend surveillance as much as possible.

[–] skuzz@discuss.tchncs.de 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Every "for the children!" law is always just about control. If they actually cared about children, these governments would pass laws or take actions that actually help. I imagine asking a kid if they feel their government does things to make them safe, they'd probably go "dafuq?" or "no."

[–] JimVanDeventer@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I am probably on the same side as you are, but I was trying to give TacoButtPlug a somewhat measured answer to a seemingly genuine question. I try to start out appearing as a lukewarm lunatic before cranking the heat up to raving.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago

To get your daily internet permit.

[–] GenosseFlosse@feddit.org 8 points 3 months ago

On the plus side: he is also invisible to face scanning from security cams and billboards.

[–] RodgeGrabTheCat@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Can't he just go and update his ID? As long as Illuminati forehead has an ID that matches that trainwreck of a face it should work.

[–] Tingle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Uk doesn't have a universal id which is why they are using face recognition for the check.

You can provide a drivers licence but maybe the guy doesnt have one.
