I don't get this. Not even high school girls find high school boys attractive. How could a grown woman? And what's with the language, the word is raped or sexually abused/assaulted, 16 year old here is assumed unable to consent to sex with any adult.
They are almost assuredly turned on by the power dynamic, not necessarily the student themselves.
I have never thought of it that way and it makes sense.
In some jurisdictions maybe, but only if it's close in age. Like 16 and 18. 26 is very upsetting, what if she got pregnant and kept the child?
I mean, let’s be honest here. In high school there was always at least one overly good looking guy everyone thought would become a model.
Doesn’t excuse the teacher for raping him though. I can be around beautiful people all day long and manage to not have sex with them just fine, nevermind the act being illegal.
We are all very aware how easy it is for you to manage that.

As someone who works IT at a school, this is far too common. I've ignored many a new teacher coming up to me with questions because I thought they were students, and I ignore students at all cost. This has happened in the intermediate buildings. You just can't know how old anyone is anymore, so I assume everyone is underage until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Bc they are dumb, and say dumb shit. And I'm not responding to their nonsense. If I keep my mouth shut, nobody can lie and say I said anything I didn't say. We have cameras everywhere, so it's easy to prove I ignored them and walked on by. I've heard too many horror stories of students getting pissed at their teachers and making up lies and getting them fired. I don't want any part of that. I'm here to fix shit and go home.
Story for justification:
My step sisters kid had a bday party that my mom and step dad talked me into going to bc it was at a restaurant I really liked. I sat on the far end with my mom and step dad, didn't really interact with anyone but them as I didn't really know anybody. Kid had one of her friends there that apparently went to the high school where I work.
A week later I'm working in the high school when this student comes up to me and says, "Hey, didn't we have dinner last week?“ in the front of a classroom, loudly.
I had completely forgotten about the bday all together at this point, and definitely didn't recognize this kid bc I was sat on the opposite end of the loooong table of like 20 people, most of whom I didn't know.
I don't even remember what I said tbh. I just remember the feeling of panic, then her eventually going on to say it was for so and so's bday.
It was definitely just done to be funny and to get a rise out of her friends, but that kinda shit can go bad if heard out of context, and I like my job and don't want to risk it over kids being dumb.
That's an interesting way of saying statutory rape.

Yeah, but unfortunately the people that are predisposed to fucking the children kind of seek the roles out. That or the amount of power it takes to poison some people is much lower than I thought, but I don't want to consider that.
When I was 15, my physics teacher . . . never mind. In hindsight it was wrong. Back then, it was heaven, lot's of summer vacation heaven. I'd like to point out that Mary was 13 and Joseph was 45. Take that, hypocrite Christians. You worshiping a hebephile? I confessed to my dad when he was on his deathbed. He smiled and said "attaboy." then fell asleep. It was the last thing he said to me. I sprinkled his ashes along the entire length of the PCT and each time I said "Attaboy." I feel bad for this teacher's "victim." The justice system, media and everyone in school will know and victimize him for it. Justice will victimize him far worse than anything she did to him. Mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.
What if your physics teacher got pregnant and decided to keep the child? What if you got an STD? What if you rejected/cheated on her and she gave you bad grades or made up shit about you to get you expelled? Would it have been an "attaboy" in that common situation?
Realistically unless you press charges there won't be a criminal proceeding. Even in your case, having the option of a criminal proceeding gives you a lot of protection. You're lucky you didn't need to use it. I'd venture a vast majority of times don't end up like yours. It's never "just sex".

Really? I would bet the opposite. Sure, it is ethically questionable... but the fact is that power dynamics are sexy. Like, a sexually mature but inexperienced and ultra horny teen gets the opportunity to have sex with their teacher? Yes sir/ma'am! The porno almost writes itself!
And selection bias - you will almost always only hear about the teacher/student sex that goes wrong somehow. Every once in a while, someone like the above poster will talk about their positive experience, shrouded by anonymity. But you can see the downvotes they are getting. The whole subject is taboo, which means they will almost certainly never share their experience. And even if they did, publicly, no news source would ever report "teen has sex with teacher, says 'This is awesome!!!'" There are strong cultural incentives against being public about healthy, enjoyable teacher/student sexual relationships that end amicably.
I'm downvoting it for the premise that there's usually nothing wrong with it. It may work out in some cases, but I only hear about it rarely compared to the times it did work out. A lady interviewed about her positive experience with David Bowie when she was a teen (I wouldn't downvote her, she vouched for the guy not the practice). This guy says he has a good experience. Then there are thousands of others that didn't. Scientific papers showing negatives, and virtually no positives to outweigh the risk. It's almost like advocating for gambling, some may win but most will lose. Glad that the op was a winner.
I have no evidence for this. I am just guessing - given my priors that power dynamics are hot, most people are nice but will compromise social ethics for their own desires when given the opportunity, and that there are strong social biases against reporting positive experiences.
Interesting, this also leads to what is perhaps my most controversial opinion. In an ideal world, teen-adult sex wouldn't be taboo, but would instead be commonplace and accepted.
Our current system for introducing people to the world of sex is to give them some vaguaries and say "okay, now get to it with other people who have no idea what they are doing. You may or may not be making Jesus cry." This is the exact opposite of what we would do if we were to talk about an important part of an individual's maturation into adulthood in the abstract. We would agree that they would benefit from guidence and instruction from someone who is experienced and knowledgeable, and who can council them through difficulties they encounter. Instead, if we actually had a sexually open culture, people with ample sexual experience (adults) would be the ones to introduce adolescents to sex - either directly or through explicit instruction. Of course now this is, once again, sounding like a porno.... so I'll just leave it at that

I’m not very surprised that a teacher raped a student. I AM surprised (and glad) that she was dumb enough to talk about it TO ANOTHER TEACHER.
