I agree with doing what's right but damn it man the porn we have now.... it's unreal. I mean look, deepfakes are bad and all that, but people are publishing 2D stuff I never thought I'd see in my lifetime. Sorry to be that person but I just wanted to add that perspective... also I just signed up to the xfolio site and it seems nice. Not sure which folks I follow will flock to it yet but I guess time will tell.

This is the start of a beautiful copypasta

I want something like ig/reels that also bans ai instead of having it show up over real artists on every hashtag

[–] biofaust@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

We should see if that is in the intentions of the new Loops app.

I just had a look at it and the English translation has a way to go until really be usable.

Whats is way more annoying though, is that they use Google Captcha of all the possibilities out there. FUCKING gCAPTCHA.

tbh i find gcaptcha better than hcaptcha, it appears far less often on my very restrictive firefox setup and they don't use gross 'ai' generated images

[–] green_copper@kbin.earth 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Opposite for me. I like the hCaptcha challenges more, my solutions are not used for AI training (at least not in as so obvious way as with google) and I can selve them in one or two tries where with gCaptcha I mostly need 3 or more.
(I'm also using restricted Firefox / Librewolf + obfuscation plugins.)

Interesting. I doubt they still train AI with recaptcha input though, the overall system's been unchanged for over 10 years now and they would've collected enough data in a year.

They require self labeling of AI content so you can figure how well that goes

[–] mrbubblesort@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm an avid pixiv user and believe it or not, it actually seems to go pretty well.

Avid user as well, but things have been declining for me. The site is now plagued with AI content mixed with normal content, so you are left wading through slop. I get that they likely attract more people interested in p*rn now, given how quickly AI can churn out that content - and it shows on pixiv. To me it feels like self labeling isnt enough. I came for the art and am looking for an alternative now

I mean, they allow ai generated stuff, but that's about it as far as I can tell, since they also let you filter ai stuff out as its own category of filter.

[–] Mk23simp@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 4 days ago

I definitely appreciate Pixiv's ability to filter AI generated images. Although from my understanding it depends on the uploader self-reporting so it's probably not perfect. It at least gets most of the AI images out of searches though. I tried looking on Xfolio and it doesn't seem to have as much art yet, but I will probably try to keep an eye on it.

That's good

I am not certain so I went off of the post.

Pixiv is not pro ai? It just allows it. And there's a free setting to disable it.

One thing though is that you are require to state a work is ai, but some artists ignores it and don't get works suspended because of it.

[–] wizblizz@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

Allowing AI is inherently pro AI. Nothing less than a full ban is acceptable.
