Edit: its about the new Pope (Pope Leo) not the old pope (pope Francis). Apparently the dead progressive pope was replaced with another progressive pope. Cool
Well, Francis had as many good takes as bad takes. Some people described him as "strategically trying to piss off as many people as possible."
Example?
He wanted Ukraine to surrender and back in 2015 and 2016 made a few statements about how he didn't think children should be taught gender ideologies or procedures and that there were strong immutable differences between men and women.

People using "American" to refer to anyone from the western continent (from a euro centric perspective) is conventional in some parts or the world. It's not the convention in Canada, we bristle at the thought of being labeled Americans.

As I told my mother and father yesterday, I firmly believe that under the Trump regime that if for any reason this new Pope comes to America that he'll either be captured and tortured before being killed or just straight up killed for being a traitor.

I imagine he’s still against birth control, gay marriage, women priests, etc. He’s pretty conservative.
That said, he’s for not treating others like total shit, even people you don’t know. Also he spoke in Italian, instead of English, while giving his first speech in Italy to a crowd dominated by Italians. So MAGA hates him.
