Rules:

  1. The mods are fallible; if you've been banned or had a post/comment removed, please appeal.
  2. Off-topic posts will be removed. If you don't know what "Leopards ate my Face" is, try reading this post.
  3. If the reason your post meets Rule 1 isn't in the source, you must add a source in the post body (not the comments) to explain this. If the reason is in the source but is tedious to find (e.g. in a lengthy video), you must add an explanation for where it is.
  4. Posts should use high-quality sources (for a rough idea, check out this list), and posts should retain the title (if one exists) from works like news articles, videos, etc. You may (but need not) edit your post if the source changes the title. Other types of posts should have a title which accurately, relatively neutrally describes their contents.
  5. For accessibility reasons, an image of text must either have alt text or a transcription in the post body.
  6. Reposts within 1 year or the Top 100 of all time are subject to removal. Within moderator discretion, this doesn't just include reposts of the exact same media but also includes e.g. a secondary source telling basically the exact same story as another that was already posted.
  7. This is not exclusively a US politics community. You're encouraged to post stories about anyone from any place in the world at any point in history as long as you meet the other rules.

Despite all of this, Muñoz said she still believes in Trump's immigration policies—even going as far as calling the former president "super intelligent."

Sharing some views of Trump's faithful core supporters, which are disputed by many Americans, she said: "He's like one of the most intelligent people in America. We can tell because of all his good business and all the achievements that he has."

"I'm pretty sure he's smart and knows what he's doing," Muñoz said.

"I was scared that any of those gang members or murderers that are coming to the country without any authorization would attack me or my family."

These two are a really special level of stupid

Everyday I get closer to some reeeeal sketchy ethical disasters like wondering if the human race really has diverged into one incredibly stupid and one moderately functional sub species.

Like, who the fuck are these braindead buffoons?!

[–] qprimed@lemmy.ml 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

as long as you keep reminding yourself just how fucking sketchy that is... i'll allow it.

Alternatively we're a hive species run by a cabal of psychopaths.

Super cool. 👍

(also - "fuck you I'm getting mine" seems less morally wrong when most people seem soooooo fucking dumb and useless...)

If he's okay with this happening to his own wife, someone he swore to protect in front of everyone he knows, what do you think he's okay with happening to you

[–] angrystego@lemmy.world 33 points 1 year ago

No, you don't understand, the deported wife says she trusts Trump. Never underestimate the world, it's always capable of getting even wierder.

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I think his main cope is, “If I show respect to Trump his admin is more likely to correct the issue”.

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 43 points 1 year ago (2 children)

weird. even immigrants arent immune to the fake fox news lines of invading gangs. brainwashing complete.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

probably even more susceptible due to language barrier and perhaps not fully comprehending what's being said or written.. especially by this administration.

This is very common in communities like Florida and Cuban inmigrants. With Republican commentary about communist this and socialist that all the time, and of course the native Cuban experiences... It's a perfect melting pot of misinformation preying on personal experience and lies absolutely everywhere making it difficult to see any truth.

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

In my experience, my immigrant community are easily swayed by anticommunist sentiment.

The representative for the district near me (Derek Tran) narrowly won preaching to the vietnamese immigrant community how anti Communist he was. While simultaneously being on the left (which isn't a high bar, he wants to do the radical thing of no price gouging and fighting big pharma).

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

Estupida is the word she knows

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

It is a cult.

[–] MetalMachine@feddit.nl 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I have a genuine question, why do so many Hispanic people support trump

[–] valtia@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

The same reason so many white women support him, they're brainwashed and believe his policies don't apply to them

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 year ago

And white women

These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity:

  1. Always and inevitably, everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

  2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.

  3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.

  4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular, non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places, and under any circumstances, to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.

  5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Holy crap. Please deport her! We don't need more stupid in this country. We're full of stupid.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

This is why I tell people that "They have to feel the pain!" isn't a solution.

I have no problem with these cretins suffering, but it will never convince any appreciable number of them.

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 6 points 1 year ago

I just hate that good people are getting swept up into this mess.

[–] don@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

A jar of moldy mayonnaise likely has a calculable IQ of 1, and just by simply being, is mentally doing quantum chromodynamics – comparatively speaking – compared to these fucking vacuum brains.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

What a scumbag.

I get that this is leopardsatemyface, but also What education is needed here to vaccinate people against the virus of ignorance?
