you think companies will just use a flat amount to cover the 'tariff'? fat chance. this is america, they're gonna keep their percent-based margins, probably add to them, besides, to offset lower sales volumes.. and those profit margins get added at every link in the distribution chain. retail prices will be closer to double than 'only' 54% more.

and a lot of them will remain unaffected, as they have no stocks or mutual funds to tank.

capitalism and corporate greed says that the cost of domestic goods will go up, too, to be just less than the now higher-priced imports.

penguins like cheetos. i remember that uh.. 'documentary'. we should send 'em a big giant fat one. no charge. just to say 'sorry' for imposing the unfair tariffs on their trade.

ok, then...

i have a huge trade deficit with walmart.

i buy way more from them than they do from me ($1200-1500 a year vs $0); just like the u.s. buys more from many countries than those countries buy from the u.s.

like the leaky diaper's new ~~tariffs~~import tax, i should charge myself a ridiculously high extra tax on purchases from walmart until they buy $1200-1500 a year of some mythical product from me to even out the 'unfair' imbalance?

yea. that'll work.

looking at the internal images here..

a 2 wide card looks like it'll fit, if you have the (required) riser card, so long as all the covers are off, and the retention latch is open or removed, and some ''modifications'' (to the chassis back) are made.

but you'll need to secure the card in place, and cover and cool the whole thing..

and then also power it:

the 180w power adapter (laptop style) the builds without a discrete card ships with is most likely inadequate to cover the slot power draw of the 1070, so you'd have to get a larger (and compatible) power adapter. builds with the 50w oem t1000 ship with a 240w one.

and also franken-in a 12v pcie power source for the card, too, as a 1070 can draw at least 150w.

technically a 'non partisan' office, but my guess is the same as youRs.

the union officially endorsed harris, but i'm sure there's enough power-tripping under-educated magats working for tsa to at least make it 50/50, if not tilting red.

ain't gonna cost me $5k more a year..

i don't have that $5k extra to spend, so i'll just keep on 'making do' with less and less each year. i'm already near the absolute minimum and close to scoping out a spot under a bridge by the river.

we picked up a 8gb laptop last fall. soldered ram. knew it going-in. but it's for home use.. and it was only $230 (us) for a ryzen 17in laptop.

a real promo flyer received here in 2006. been hanging in the office ever since.
